Got delivery of my 2016 M4. Amazing car!

I came down to L.A. this weekend to pick up my Mineral White / Sakhir M4 from Steve Thomas BMW. I never had driven a turbo charged engine nor DCT before picking up my car. I am completely blown away by how awesome the car is.

David Aviles and Jimmy Bach were awesome from my initial call, to ordering to getting my car this weekend. Could not have been easier and awesome.

I still have my 2009 E90 M3 with KW coilovers and full Akrapovic Evolution exhaust. I figured the M4 would feel a bit tame. Boy was I wrong and this is while keeping within the break-in limits.

Love it!

just picked mine up too and it is very tail happy even though I'm under 5000 rpm (break in period/only have 180 miles on it). Traction control light comes on a lot. It is a kinda weird feeling as my old E46 with much more power felt more planted. Maybe I just need more seat time.

make sure the tires are warmed up and modulate the throttle, it will be much more tail happy than your e46. that car does not even compare.

I'm having a very difficult time respecting the break in period. I'm at 150 km.

It is a lot more neutral then previous M cars, and while it is much more tail happy, it will still understeer when really pushed at the limits.

As far as traction control kicking it a lot, that is one of the bad things about this car. MDM mode is too restrictive.

In the spring I plan on going with extreme performance tires, and then code Euro MDM mode. Between those two things that should make the car much more fun.

Sorry guys. Have been doing a lot of driving I'll post pics up later today. Cheers!

Definitely, it is hard to keep the car within the break in limits. Especially with using DCT in 'non automatic' mode. It revs up very quickly for 4500 in 1st.

...because full torque at 1700 rpms, I'm sure your E46 didn't give you that much torque down low. This is grown folk power, gotta manage that throttle on a mature level or "search for sakhir orange M4 crashes leaving cars and coffee".

Congrats op, the so interior looks awesome.

How far off is the M suspension to your KW coilover set-up?

Congratulations on the new car. Were you on Goliath Leader?

I also ordered an M4 from Steve Thomas (MG/SO). I 100% agree that David and Jimmy were awesome. I did an out of state order (Utah), and they were awesome with everything. Jimmy even accepted shipping for a winter wheel set.

I wan't able to register my car until today, which means this is the first day I have been able to really drive it. It is awesome.
