Went to Miami performance to have the turbos and bm3 installed, great bunch of guys to work with, anyone in the Florida area thinking of doing either of these upgrades I would highly recommend Miami performance. I had been running an Ess tune and came in at 465 whp but I just wanted more so I've been following bm3 and finally decided to do it. My goal was 550 so I didn't have to change the clutches on the Dct.

Bm3 is definitely not an off the shelf tune my first run on the dyno came in at 525 and they sent PTF the logs, they sent another map and onto the dyno again, 3 more times and 3 more maps and 570 hp later I was very happy. This thing just pulls like crazy.

The only problem we ran into was not being able to get the torque to read on the dynojet so the dyno just shows the hp and mph. I also have the Ess dyno run for comparison.

If you want to slap the car on a dyno to pull the tq numbers let me know. I've hosted a few M dyno days in the Miramar area.

You need to connect the signal wire to the second coil to get it to read properly, which is not possible to reach (with my experience atleast, unless you have very very small hands i guess) without removing the engine cover below the chargepipe.

So with the 570rwhp was that still trying to limit the power to save the clutch or did you end going for as much power as you can get out of it?

long needle nose pliers makes that an easy task. on the 1st coil pack.

Yeah that would probably also work, still can be challenging. There isn't much spare to work with with the cover on. I just have mine off anyway since the BMS chargepipes don't fit with the cover installed.

SOLID! Is this just downpipes and turbos and pump gas? Really curious on the torque as well.

Mustang dyno but it should give you a idea of tq with these turbos.

if that octane was more like average 93 out there there'd be a little more in there This tune running ~25psi won't heat the crap out of your charge intake air either

Limiting factor in this case was just 93 and not going for dyno glory. This tune can be beaten on, hard, in hot/humid Florida on pump gas It'd be pretty easy to crack 600whp for dyno glory with a few more tweaks. It'd be pushing it but some out there we're sure would care less for our recommendation on not doing it and we get it

Taking engine cover off and unbolting charge pipes at the top 5mins tops.

They asked if I wanted to do another run but my goal was 550 So I stopped at 570, I didn't want to worry about the clutch. They said there was still more power with some more adjustments

Thanks for clarifying. I'd personally also go with this route and have a little bit more peace of mind rather than having 30hp more.

What did you spend in labor costs? For both turbo installs and tune?

Stock 6-speed manuals can take a proven 700RWHP and 700RWT! Past that they begin start slipping a little*

Rgs M4,

A few questions if you don't mind...
  1. Pure stage 2 HI-FLOW turbos?
  2. DownPipes are w/o cat?
  3. Chargepipes Why? (resolve stress issues with OEM or going with Meth?)
  4. How much time on the dyno? (runs or hours is fine)
  5. Did PTF work with you/MPI in a more "live" fashion or did you have to come back another day to re-dyno with new maps?
  6. $1750 including charge pipe installation, turbo swap, R&R the ecu, put the tune on, and dyno time?

Went with the hi flow turbos

Catless dps

Went with new charge pipes just for peace of mind with the added stress

We did a total of 4 runs on the dyno over 2 days, day 1 they couldn't get a torque reading so we left it on the dyno overnight hoping to get it working the next day but no luck.

So day 2 we did 3 more runs and after each run we sent the logs to PTF they made adjustments and sent updates until I was happy with the power so yes PTF stayed with us continually until we got it done. Great work on PTFs part, they we're really there the whole time working with Miami performance.

Yes the 1750 was everything you mentioned including 2 hrs on the dyno at $100 hr but we ended up on the dyno probably 4-5 hrs.

Great bunch of guys at mpi. Their shop car was a gtr that ran an 8.19 1/4 mile so they know their stuff.

I couldn't be happier with the results, the only problem I am having is the Florida heat in sport and sport plus. If your easy or flat out on the gas no problem but anywhere in between it bucks like hell. Its not the tune because I had the same problem last year when I was running an ESS tune. Actually took the BMW service manager for a ride last year and he had no answers.

Yes I have always been up front with the service dept with everything I've done and I just tell them not to touch the ecu and so far they have been ok with that.
