Cool bootmod3 Custom Tuning

As we're getting very close to the open beta release thought we'd throw together a screenshot of the map editor that will soon make it to a wider audience. What you see below is an editor that will come up for any bm3 user when/if they wish to take things into their own hands, or, work with a tuner of their choice.

For those comfortable enough to have fun in the editor you'll have access to close to 300 tables to adjust all of the tune aspects we also tune with for our OTS maps. Every table we touch will be part of the editor. Any new advances made will also be exposed to the editor on an ongoing basis.

On the tuner front, we've built a feature into it to allow the end user to send their stock or tuned map to a registered tuner of their choice. Any current licensed bm3 user can register themselves to be a tuner. Those without an existing BM3 license will also be able to purchase a tuner specific license which doesn't require a DME unlock of their own car to offer assistance in tuning any given bm3 user seeking out their help.

More to follow on that very soon. We can't wait to cut a first open beta release for everyone looking to use it. We're hoping for lots of feedback and everyone is welcome

With ultimate power comes ultimate responsibility...and good times

Wow... suddenly I am reminded of this famous saying, I wonder how many civic M's we will have!
Ps: the expression you meant to say in post #1: "with great power comes great responsibility" ;-)

This is amazing. This may be a dumb question but I dont know the specifics of how ur dme tuning works....Will we have the ability to turn boost lower than stock, for specific applications?

This is great for those that understand engine tuning, and from reading very lightly on the subject, it's immensely complex. it's like I give IDA pro to someone but no clue on how to use it.

I bet it's useful for people like you Cary but not the general mass... and I recall you promised few times a "tuning 101"

Oh man nothing like IDA pro not trivial but not that hard at all. I mean that's not even that hard if you have some helper files for it haha but yeah, ever work with a spreadsheet?

Nothing is ever for the general masses, not even a hammer or a screwdriver haha

I'm sure we'll have a lot of q&a once people get down and dirty with it though..

Well if you are using IDA pro to look at a "Hello World", sure not hard at all, what's the equivalent of that for engine tuning?!?

Btw, I wish you guys would think of selling the custom editor separate... for a reduced price.

Hi Dzenno, innovators and great service are synonymous with Bootmod. This is great news, especially for us at high altitude. Definitely want to sign up to be a Bootmod tuner.

Equivalent to 'hello world' in this case would be simply to load both a ZCP and a non-ZCP file and compare the tables and see what the OEM approach was to building the ZCP tune

Yeah, the editor can be complex if you don't have any tuning background, but it's certainly learnable, especially for somebody as smart as yourself.

However, most people can appreciate it and will like the fact that they can hire a known tuner to custom tune for them, totally remotely, if they aren't comfortable tuning it themselves.

FYI, I will be one of the tuners available through the BM3 platform. .
Are you sure I am that smart and I guess you would never create a "tuning 101" given you are a "tuner"... come on look i've donated so much on the front of software flashing (publicly and privately), we need some love for DIY engine tuning learning ... yes I've google and read and read but we need specific info on S55, not a VW or some other commonly available stuff!
