Expected changes over life cycle of F80/F82
I'm planning on getting my first M3 which will be the F80. I haven't been able to get a sense of what types of changes BMW makes to the M3 over its 6 or 7 year cycle. If I wait 2-3 years, should I expect any changes or options or whatever compared to the year 1 offering? I'd appreciate any input on this question from my fellow Bimmerposters!

There's going to be a competition package. Whether it's going to be more along the lines of the e9x comp package or that of the f10 M5 is TBD (I'm leaning towards the M5 type). We might get some new color options. We'll get full LED taillights as is tradition. There might also be different package grouping and option availability. For example, some options may become stand-alone and some packages might be combined into one.

I searched M3Post and got lots of hits.
Not sure if this is 100% accurate but it will give you the idea either way: http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=826190 |

I really do hope LCI taillight can be retrofit when they come out.
Those taillight made huge difference on my 135i. Also LCI tail on e92 coupe looks so much better than old one. |
