Sorry no. Your plates here look like shit compared to euro plates. If I was in Finland, I would have one (no way to drive without one) but also they are pretty. Your plates are just soooooo fucking ugly. Too many details.

UK number plates rule - love the yellow rear plate.

http://f80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho...postcount=1612

Really wish the US would adopt UK/European style plates.

My solution on my last car was something like this - http://www.jegs.com/i/Altec+Products...DStxoCV6rw_wcB

Don't know if I'll be able to do it on the M4 due to clearance issues, but at least it's an option. I just flipped it up whenever I parked downtown.

I keep my front plate in my glove compartment.
Perhaps its that way when you're in CA but in MD that is not the case at all. I've been yanked out of traffic three times in MD (with three different cars; Z06, E92M3 and GTR) for nothing other than not having a front plate.

Oh wow, I must have been lucky! I actually got my car in Baltimore and was driving there for a good couple of months and a couple thousand miles.

Also since my car was registered in CA (and in CA you don't get plates with your car, they come in the mail 2-3 weeks after delivery) I was driving around with no plates for a while and I never got stopped. I had to explain it every time I was at a car wash or gas station and someone brought it up haha

Don't do it! Pay the fees. Then again, if you park on the street alot and cops in the area are anal about front plates, I might op to get the tow hook plate just for those situations.

I reside in Texas, here front plate is mandatory. With that said i have not had a front plate in last 8 years of ownership in any of my cars. Down here the ticket is $25.00 dollars and is also a non moving violation. in 8 years i have paid it twice as most police officers won't really enforce it. Even if they did i would still not drill my bumper to have one. Ill continue to take my chances

How about in BC, CANADA?

My first car with no front plate. Dealer has left the front plate out to my pleasant surprise (was afraid even to ask them not to install it). Driving like this since August.

Anyone has any experience with how much police in Vancouver area reinforces this for BC drivers?

In Souther California, parking enforcement will ticket you without one.

Also gives the cops an excuse to pull you over.

On my e93, the plastic license plate mount had clips which attach underneath the bumper. I put layers of double sided tape at the top of the license plate plastic mount, clipped in the bottom, and let the double sided tape take care of the top. Took it on multiple road trips for over 3 years with no issues.

This is true. The parking enforcement is worse than the cops.

I have a plan to mount/dismount my license plate very quickly when I have to park. It involves magnets and I'll post up the details when I get around to do it.

It's illegal here in Van (BC) without a front plate. My car was pre-drilled when I got it so I got BumperPlugs (shaved the plugs rather than drill) and got tow hook plate from US Millworks with quick release. (highly recommend if you have sensors)

I don't run front license plate. On both Lilly (my 3er) and Laura (my M4). I don't care lol. The police around my area ignore this most of the time of your car is new or more expensive car.

My Jetta had no front plate for 8-9 years before it was finally flagged for it.

I reported earlier in the thread that I got pulled over for this here in NY.

After speaking with my lawyer I found out the ticket is $290. I'm now considering getting a tow hook mount as a defense of this in court.

This quote describes me exactly, except I have lived here 10 years. Ticketed twice, still not getting front plate. I don't even put front plates on my wife's vehicles and she doesn't get tickets either.

Total luck of the draw as to whether or not you get pulled for this where I live (Long Island).

I had no front plate on my e90 for 6 months and only got pulled over once, oddly enough the cop said that he "didn't see when I passed by that it was in your windshield" which is also technically not legal, but I went with it and got no ticket.

I'm just curious who all is running w/o a front plate in states that it's illegal to do so, if so did you get tickets at all for it or on past cars? Thanks for your input.
Tow hook plate.

Illinois requires a front plate, I pass cops daily without one (have for years) and NEVER been pulled over just for that reason. I haven't had a front plate on my cars for 14 years, and my wife's car for the last 4 years, never been pulled over for it.

HOWEVER, it has been an issue twice.
1) pulled over for speeding (going 37 in a 25 residential while in my wife's X3), the cop brought up no front plate, I lied and told him we just had the front bumper replaced from an accident and they didn't have the bracket for it yet. I actually got off with NO tickets that time for speeding or the plate.

2) AIRPORT parking, this is where they get you in Illinois, O'Hare airport they have cops (or parking police, whatever) looking just for this in the parking lots, we got a ticket in the mail for our X3, BUT we fought it, sent a letter in saying we had a plate when we parked our car there, but "it was stolen for the bracket cover" said we found the plate on the ground under the car and the bracket missing, they dismissed the ticket!

If I lived downtown Chicago it might be hard to get away with it if parking on the street at all, but in the suburbs I would never get one, ruins the M bumpers.
And to prove cops don't care where I live, every day I see 2-3 cars with crazy tinted license plate "covers" where you can't even read the plate numbers, and obviously they don't get pulled over, and that's rear plates!

Jesus christ was that the only charge or was there something else besides the front plate? In VA it's a $70 ticket.
