MHD - Unable to erase memory

I have tried to load the stage 0 after purchasing MHD. After my first attempt, it failed after attempting to erase section 1, with the error “Unable to erase memory”. After doing so, I followed instructions to lock the car and try again 20 minutes later. This time, it made it to section 2 before giving this error, and another time it made it to section 3, same error.

If it fails with “Unable to prepare memory section”, the cluster will look normal but all tach lights are red and fuel pump is on, shows gas level and temperature.

But if it fails with “Unable to erase memory” the dash is unresponsive and shows tach as if car had warmed up (1 yellow, 2 red), fuel at 0 and temperature at 340 degrees. No fuel pump.

In either case, the car will not start or even attempt to crank. I cannot flash stage 0 or stock, as it will randomly fail.

Most of the time, it will say erasing section 1, flip to 0%, 1% (2 min), then skips to Please wait… erasing section 2 where it will stay for a few minutes until it says Unable to erase memory OR unable to prepare memory.

I am using wifi adapter, I have a charger connected, but so far this has bricked my ECU.

Can be recovered with E-Sys and ENET Cable

Sorry to hear this. Are you using orange adaptor or black one? Using black one, it should really take less than 3 min for initial long write and less than 30 seconds for following writes.

They just got back to me this morning. They are suggesting that the WiFi connection was unstable. I figured as such and purchased the lightning-to-ethernet adapter on Saturday and should be arriving today.

I don't care if it takes a while to write, just want it successful.

Will report back with hardwired results

I had the same problem with my car, it was due to the AK Motion Display was still active on the power train can during the flash of the DME. Do you have such an device oder something similar build in? just deactivate it.

Hi all

It was in fact the wifi adapter. The ENET + iphone adapter came in today, flashed to stock and then installed stage0 no problems.

Hope this becomes helpful to someone in the future!

I am running into the same exact issue. I tried to flash the car and it says connected for 30 minutes and went to flashing ECU but right under that said "unable to erase memry" I unplugged it and now my car wont start crank or anything. I just ordered the ethernet to iphone cord. Hope this works!!!
