Drives really well too, GM has some of the best chassis tuning in the business.

Hell, I've now started lurking on the Audi website as I'm eyeing a replacement for the 135i.

Nothing below the M5 and above M8 Coupe is interesting to me from the current line-up, and I need a smaller car than the F80.

Curious if you've looked into an M240/M2 those are pretty much some of the last small and fun Bimmers left. I don't think you will find much at Audi, even the RS3, the engine is really only the best part about that car, everything else is okay but overpriced.

It depends what market you're in. We paid ~50k USD for our well optioned RS3 here in Canada back in early 2018. I'd say it is a very fair price for what it offers.

Seems like BMWs grew up in the 80s during the waning era of US muscle cars which specialized in dragster and stock-car left-turn-only racing ...

Versus BMW which had the European tradition of open-road / road course endurance racing like the Mille Miglia, Le Mans, etc evoking more of the mountains and rally racing. At least it did for me and it's why I've always love BMW and Audi. For me the ///M3 was born here, where speed *with* agility around a road course outshined drag strip capabilities ... and it seems a small group of like-minded enthusiasts grew the ///M brand from a small crazy niche into a mega-brand over the last 40 years.

However, as technology and horsepower have advanced, as credit availability has made road & track vehicles accessible to more and more people - not to mention the track hobby overall getting slammed with billions of dollars and thousands of well-heeled hobbyists willing to buy track-only rigs...

...Maybe we've entered into a new world where that same group of like-minded enthusiasts has to motor on to new destinations?

Cause I gotta say, given the G8x, that ZL1 is looking pretty kickass.

Yeah thats a much better price, most I've seen at dealers are above $60k which I think is a bit high for the platform its on. The engine is fantastic though and would love to see it in some other Audi's.

They don't care, they're happy to leave us in the F8x forum, while they shape and pamper the G8x forums exactly to BMW marketing guidelines.

Hell, what's the point of a "forum" anyway? Rename it "Dukec Echo chamber circlejerk Post" as that's closer to reality than this.

RIP BMW
RIP M3
RIP BimmerPost
Yup. I was gonna say the same thing. They are happy to keep us here isolated and away from that disaster of a car.

The funny thing is that they can sort of control the narrative on these forums but all the other social media outlets are destroying this mess. Can't "shape" that.

I find my F80 to be very fun, it serves the purpose of a long-distance cruiser, a weekend morning backroad toy and (recently) a track tool. Having that AND an M2(40i) would be a bit redundant.

I just like how the RS 3 looks and sounds, honestly. Never driven it yet. There was a guy with the new A45 S at my recent track day and that thing was moving, too. We'll see, it always takes us a year at the least to buy anything.

Obviously, every 135i guy is envious of the 1 Series M...

RS3 is hilariously expensive monthly wise. It's about as much as a F8x M3/M4.

Yeah Audi doesn't subsidize it's lease so it's pricey af but it's still a bit of a big pill to swallow.

It's kind of the reason I went for the Macan GTS over a 19' RS5.

I really just take any of those options over a G8x right now any day of the week. Even if it's more expensive since the RS3 or RS5 don't look like sin. RS5 interior is awesome though (minus the dumb iPad in your face.) I did mean it when I posted my little review about me loving the RS5. I just didn't justify it over a more practical Macan GTS.

If ED was still a possibility I would probably go for it just so I could do a BMW ED with my little guy. He already loves cars (was his 2nd word after momma) guess he takes after his dad.

I think that cancelling ED is worse then this G8x monstrosity!

I still find it ridiculous that people from across the damn Atlantic have up to now been able to do ED while I, a bloke from the European Union, have not! I could literally get in my car right now, cross the borders and be at the BMW Welt before the sun rises.

God damnit.

It is total bullshit. Wonder why that is? Would the Welt get "overwhelmed" with customers if they allowed all of Europe to take delivery there?

This. They canceled a program for enthusiasts and then released a car enthusiasts questioned. You know what that means, they have taken us for granted. I am actively searching for some other company to take this suckers money. It isn’t easy but I will drive a fricking Honda before I drive the new M3.

Sad to see so many OG’s on here get banned from that forum... I’ll just be a lurker then.

I can’t wait to hear the i4/i4M. Probably will sound better than the Tesla hahaha.

If BMW can nail the OTA updates like Tesla, they’ll win my business, if not my next car may very well be a Tesla. I can’t get over the G8X looks. May need to see in person but trying to defend the looks behind the wheel when everyone else will stare and gawk at its buck teeth will be unsettling.
