This. I would think a healthy chunk of that 10 second Delta would be closed.

How is there any equivalence between the M3CS — with improved suspension, reduced weight, additional horsepower — and custom paint or interior colors?
Because in an individual order you can customize the car to your liking. You can make this car more yours and perform as well as the CS without buying the CS. I can build a comparable M3/M4 based off a standard model with custom colors in and out AND I get a real door with leather on it, mood lighting, a door handle not a strip of cloth, door pockets etc...

Additionally, for the price (or less) of a CS you can get better cars. BMW is being stupid, or the people buying them are being stupid, to spend money on less and believe they got more.

Don't sell me on weight reduction with retarded cardboard doors, less sound deadening and a tune on a boosted car (easily done). Give me CF doors & fenders instead of aluminum. Give me something that can't be easily changed or replicated at the level you're selling it.

I think you misunderstood me. I was saying that there is no equivalence. Everything you said basically agrees with that: the M4 CS is not the same as individual.

I was just confused why someone would bother comparing the two. Somewhere along the line someone cleared it up, but I still don't really get it. If you want individual, get individual. I don't see the point in coming into an M4CS thread and saying, "I'd rather have individual."

Ok. Knock yourself out

Ask yourself this: when is the last time you saw the value of a collectors car go up because the owner special ordered a paint color? Never.

Nothing against the individual program, but if you order an F80 ZCP with individual paint and interior, that won't have any effect on its long term value, even though there might only be 1 of them. However, the Jahre edition cars, CS cars, GTS cars, and hell even the 1M all see additional value due to their rarity.

The distinction is subtle. Yes, there might be "only one" of a particular individual car, but from a collector's standpoint, it's still a series production car, of which there were thousands and thousands sold.
But we were not discussing values.....

Then the M3CS might not really be the right M3 variant for you .

Yes because they were asking an 80% premium over MSRP. If GTS would have sold at MSRP or slightly lower from the get go. All would have been gone. I don;t think they will repeat the mistake with CS. M4 with comp. pack and all the goodies is already touching 90k.
