Um - where it doesn't say it's an option.

It mentions the optional steering wheel. Optional CCB brakes. Does not mention optional 6MT.

There is no 6MT CS.

E46 M3 CS was not a model. It was just a name local importers decided to use for marketing purposes on the E46 M3 with a competition package. This is the same story as how there was an E36 M3 Evo and all those SE models in the UK. BMW AG had nothing to do with those model names.

The maximum I would pay for this car would be $110K CAN.

The weight savings of 110lb in the press release compares the cf roof to a steel roof. Something seems fishy here. I hope they aren't comparing the m3cs to a base m3 with moonroof they should really compare a no options m3 to claim a weight savings.

I'm also disapppinted to see the PSS tires are again the standard tire. Why doesn't it have the cup2 tires from the m4cs?

//Marketing at its best.

I wonder if they needed to work on the x3 "m"40 and "m"340 and just decided to F it and leave the base car alone, throw on a tune, put in different leather, glue on a different lip spoiler and call it done.

I could lose 110 lb off my fat ass for less than the M Tax they're going to charge for this...

550 units only to the US, BMW NA is not going to pay to have both DCT & 6MT certified for US regulations. Thus why 7 months to release. The ROI isn't enough to justify a 6MT.

Any mention if the weight savings includes the post 11/2017 builds with the steel drive shaft compared to carbon fiber.

Lipstick on a pig with the added parts to drive sales the last 6 months of production.

How many of you even have an $90k build now?
I have a $94k + build for a F83 exclusive of the flash tune/catless/BMC performed in Germany ($4k). Other mods will put it over $105k. XM5 on order is close to $115k. So 2 builds over $100k, but I'm not interest in the M3 CS.
I'm with you.

BMW "special" editions are so...not special, and definitely not worth the premiums. It would be nice if they actually added something worth the price of admission.

While not specifically limited to a known number, M cars typically are produced at a lower rate than what consumers would purchase them. That of course is part of what helps an M car retain value in the future.
Depends on your definition of limited. M2 is a standard production car, a quantity is not defined, they make as many as they make til the model year ends.

The M3/M4 CS or the GTS, or the new Porsche GT2 RS are limited from the start of production to x amount of units. These are truly limited by the manufacturer.

M2's are quite available now, I helped a friend look for one 6 months ago and even then we found one on the water eta 1 month at MSRP at Monrovia BMW in So Cal, a very high volume area.

Just like the F90 First Edition and the F85/F86 Black Fire Editions. 'Limited' = full M///SRP, wouldn't be surprised if there is an additional mark-up over M///RSP by stealerships.

I like the seats, wheels, hood and spoiler.

I hope that rear spoiler becomes something thats available to buy on its own. I already have the red start button

Sorry im going to call total BS here.

"Carbon fiber-reinforced plastic (CFRP) roof, front splitter, “Gurney Flap” and rear diffuser reduce weight by 110 lb over the standard BMW M3."

The CF roof is on the standard M3, so are they saying the splitter, "gurney flap" (huh?), and rear diffuser reduce the weight by 110lbs? Can not compute.

So why don't the M3 CS models get the OLED tails like the M4? Why are the seats different ? Wouldn't it just make more sense for the two cars to be identical in options?
