Alignment won't override your steering inputs, which is what is needed to correct oversteer. An LSD is "limited" slip, not a locking differential. It is entirely possible, and not unusual, for a single tire to spin momentarily with an LSD. Eventually, both tires spin, but they don't always begin spinning at exactly the same time. When both the rear tires start spinning, it doesn't matter if you have perfect alignment, tire pressure, lunar/solar alignment, low tide/high tide, chewing gum/or not, the car is going to behave unpredictably.

I had a similar experience a few years ago. After 20+ years of driving, including many years of driving a 130i with DSC off, I was pretty confident in my own abilities with DSC off in my e46 M3. However, one fine dry day while turning left at an intersection the rear snapped unexpectedly and I was unable to wrestle back control. I spun 90 degrees and hit a kerb, absolutely terrifying my girlfriend and causing a couple of grands damage. I was very lucky not to have hit a oncoming car or pole, a big wake-up call! I have never driven with DSC off since then, in my e92 M3 I rely on M Dynamic mode - it's just too unpredictable otherwise.

Went to pick up a few parts at my tuner from putting my STI back to stock in prep for sale and M4 purchase. He asked me what I was getting next so I told him about the M4 on order. First thing he asked was if I saw this video.

What's funny to me is that it is extremely likely, almost certain, that every single person in this thread, at some point, has done something "dangerous" in his/her car and gotten away with it. To be quite honest, disobeying posted speed limits (particularly in bad weather) is dangerous driving that could result in someone getting hurt or killed. Not to name names but apparently, some people just feel better about themselves by tearing others down. I mean, what does the member have to do before people stop berating him? Sacrifice himself? And if one is so concerned about the gravity of the situation, is the best way to rectify/teach to lambaste? Or can more constructive criticism be offered? I mean seriously, someone walk me through the logic of arguing that this is a grave situation while the same person makes a Dukes of Hazzard meme out of it. That's like a news station showing an Expendables trilogy clip after reporting a murder. If people think the member is searching for excuses, I think that those grilling him are searching for ways to "justify" their grilling. So it is a serious, life-threatening incident but it is simultaneously okay to joke about it? I don't follow. Fortunately, no one was hurt. People are nitpicking his apology but the overall tone seems pretty authentic and apologetic to me. If a member here had rear-ended someone and was at fault, no one would be publicly shaming him. However, in that hypothetical scenario, it is much more likely that another person could've been hurt/killed. In this incident, the member spun over a curb on two empty roads. However, because it was caught on film and was sort of a spectacle, he is getting crucified. That just seems odd to me. The criticism is warranted because this was a completely avoidable incident. I just think it has gone a little overboard. I'm not saying I'm right in any of this. Just my opinion/perspective.
