The bonus is that C_Funktion_RDCi_l is set to aktiv with M3CS coding. No FDL editing required.

I'll update the guide to reflect actual values and suggest using recent psdzdata files.
What changes did you get for DSC on M3 CS, as I was not able to successfully check that?

P.S. I'll try to check latest Psdzdata 4.21 to see if there are any other changes that are different to 4.17.30. Since you're updating the guide might be worth updating to the latest changes.

Did you ever solve the issue with the CAFD files not opening in the compare tool? I'm seeing that for both GHAS and DSC modules.

Just did a review video I thought you guys would enjoy. The Thor coder makes a a simple DIY from you phone. No extra effort of having to install software and even windows on a Mac if you're like me. Been there tried that pain in the ass this is legit.

I would have gone the Thor route to begin with, but they don’t code EDC. I watched the video and am happy you like it, but you didn’t get CS damper settings. Thor’s option is easiest to use and uses the factory software files like in this guide.

I'm still curious if THOR will actually upgrade the ECUs to the needed istep level, or just not work well on older cars with insufficient istep. Asked a few times and never got a response.

The other advantage of THOR is up-to-date GTS DCT flashing. From what I understand, it uses the latest GTS software instead of the old copy BM3 uses.

BM3 updates their GTS DCT software every now and then. Last update was in April 2019, so i can only assume that its based on 03/2019 software.

Do you know if there has been any changes to the GTS DCT software in the latest 11/2019 I-step to be keen on getting the latest?

Hi, I would like to try those GTS or CS settings on my 2016 M4 (EU version non CP). I have only access to a different coding software (Abrites) so pls be patient with my questions
My I-step level is F020-16-03-503 so pretty outdated. However, looking at the coding options for individual units (DSC, EPS, GHAC, VDC1) I see all the options that coxxoc and buloooski were mentioning in their post.
Do you think that even with my old i-step level I can select these GTS/CS options and it will have the desired effect? Or do I have to update to higher i-step first?
Thanks

Posting picture of how it looks like in my coding software:

I believe you should update the ecus. I started with 16-11-502 originally, and it was too old. After looking at the user manual for Abrites, Flash Programming function can be used to update the ecus. Central coding should be used with the vo coding instructions to update individual ecus. Unit coding should be used with the fdl coding instructions. Good luck!

I believe this requires fsc codes. Either a key gen or acquisition from bmw required. Some tuners offer CS like (representative changes) DME tunes however.

Is the BootMod3 CS tune close enough?

I’m not a good judge. I have a custom tune with Ecutek. I know both BM3 and MHD offer CS and GTS like maps.

Thanks, connected to friends newest ISTA - it prompted for update to i-step F020-20-03-530. So will try to update and then code the CS/GTS options

I plan to update this weekend if the friend will have time for me. I am a bit worried having to update the whole car at once - although using official/online ISTA should be the safet way I assume.
I will post an updte for sure here after I do the update and then the coding.

Just make sure your friend has Icom cable if using Ista Next to update.( otherwise you can brick the ECU)

I also recommend updating ZGW ecu as DME and EGS are both dependent of the ZGW ecu

After that you will still need to manipulate production code using esys and istep shipment of 16-11-xx in order for GTS flash to be calculated.

Finally managed to get to the i-step level update. Original ICOM, official/online ISTA+, managed to get all units except HU-NBT and KOMBI updated. These two were not succesfull for no apparetn reasons (any ideas?) - Need to try again next time when I have enough time to play with it.
Now running i-step F020-20-03-530 (standard for my 2016 European M4 nonCP version) no coding/adjustments done yet. WHat I have noticed immediatelly was that the DCT is much smoother even in S3 mode with SportPlus - doesnot kick as badly as before. So I need to drive it a bit more - may be no GTS programming will be needed.
On VDC - my feeling is that COmfort mode is less COmfort now, Sport and SportPlus - do not feel any change.
DSC and ReadDiff - no change noticed - but I havent had chance to drive it too hard and on-limit yet - so no view here.
What I dont like so far - in SPORT/SPORT/SPORT and D2 mode and DSC ON- previously after kickdown the car went like a beast. Now it downshifts the same way but the power gets somehow tamed so the acceleration is may be the same (no traction control kicking in so dramatically) but the feeling is somehow gone. So the updated DME and EGS are less aggressive in my view now.

default value for Adapt_M_FW

I wanted to play with the EDC setup, but I became confused after spotting a small inconsistency.
My car is a F82 non-CP with Adaptive M Susp (picture from FP is below)
Why is the coding for VDC1 show nicht-active in the field Adapt_M_FW (highlighted in the second picture)?
Can anyone with M4 adaptive susp double-check this coding?
thanks

just wanted to add that the CAFD 000006c6_003_002_012 (from i-step F020-16-03-503) and the updated CAFD 000006c6_003_005_001 (i-step F020-20-03-530) have this Adapt_M_FW option set to nicht_aktiv.
Just wondering why this option is here if it doesnot match the car factory setup (option 2VF adaptive M suspension present).

TRSVC_0x06 btld_00000467-013_002_000

Hoping someone can help me, i'm following the guide to code the CS settings and have gone to check that the software is available but get an error that some files are missing, I've tried different versions of psdzdata full and ran a search for the file but isn't there.

does anyone know where i can find btld_00000467-013_002_000 seems to be relevant to TRSVC even though i've not selected it to be flashed.

Can anyone help me please?

I can share the version I used with the guide if you wish. I don’t think it should be required as you aren’t flashing that ecu. Is esys preventing operation because the file is missing?

Thanks for getting back to me. So when clicking check available software it isn’t actually checking the ones that you’ve selected but checking all modules against available software in psdzdata? That’s what was throwing me.

If you could share the guide that you used I’d appreciate that. Thanks 🙂
