Railgun That would be greatly appreciated. Is there something I can do to help you with finding the differences?

I can send you my file easily. If you want to do the same, we can compare notes. I'll PM you my email address.
So just to clarify, your display shows the channels in ascending order just like the first pic I posted, or are they also sorted alphabetically?

This then means that it's normal to have them sorted alphabetically once you change radio country from US to ECE, because right now my channels are sorted exactly how you explained it. So that settles it I guess. Thanks for helping figure this out Railgun

Personally I did the first two only and my radio is working fine. The third item, ANZEIGE_FREQ = nicht_aktiv, only hides the frequency number so I can't see how that would cause your radio to mute.

Do you have the H/K sound system? I had the same issue and haven't yet found the solution.

Interesting, wondering if Fast400 has a 2016 as well. This could be something to do with NBT2 equipped cars needing some additional coding maybe?

Potentially. Or the H/K? I'm trying to dig into my HU_NBT2 CAFD but there's a pretty good number of unmapped codes right now.

Interesting, would be interested to know what changes between ECE and Australia. Either way I'm glad you managed to sort it out.

Do you mind sharing the code for Australia so that others could benefit if they face the issue?

Yeah, you bet! Instead of changing Radio_Country to ECE, I changed it to "Australien"

Thanks. Seems to me that this problem is effecting 2016s (NBT2) since both @Fast400 and yourself had the problem on a 2016.

Try changing Radio_Country to "Australien" rather than "ECE". This seems to do the trick for some.

Radio tuners in the rest of the world (mostly) have the ability to tune to channels with any khz frequency, odd or even numbered e.g. 88.8Mhz or 95.4Mhz

Now I plan to be relocating outside the US sometime next year and would like to be able to tune to even numbered khz frequencies. So what I need to be able to do is have the radio jump in steps of 0.1Mhz rather than 0.2Mhz which is what US cars currently do.

I did some search online and apparently it is possible. The coding I found online was for a 2012 BMW X3. These are the codes that I managed to find:

HU_CIC/NBT Module:
  • RADIO_COUNTRY = ece
  • FM_DEEMPHASIS = 50us
  • ANZEIGE_FREQ = nicht_aktiv

Source: http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=636814

I'm a newbie to coding and trying to figure out how to code in the first place. However, I know some of you guys are more experienced with coding, so can someone confirm if these are the right codes to do such a thing?

***Update 09/18/2015
I was able to get some help with coding, it turned out to be much simpler than I thought (I was very intimidated by it for some reason). Anyway, I started off by coding those two:

HU_CIC/NBT Module:
  • RADIO_COUNTRY = ece
  • FM_DEEMPHASIS=50us

and it worked just as it should. I was able to tune to channels with even numbered decimals e.g. 89.6.

Some other BMW models apparently would display "Mhz" after the channel number e.g. 88.8Mhz, causing the description line of the channel to get distorted because it becomes too long. With the case of my F80 I did not have "Mhz" added in front of the channel number after coding. In case you do, to fix that you would need to eliminate displaying the channel number completely by using this code: ANZEIGE_FREQ = nicht_aktiv

The only difference after coding is the channels are no longer sorted by ascending order (numerically), they are sorted alphabetically now. This is normal as even European spec'd cars come standard that way, confirmed by user Railgun with his UK spec'd car.

***Update 11/19/2015

A problem seems to have surfaced for some users trying to do the above codings on their 2016 F8Xs (NBT2 hardware). While they are able to tune to all frequencies after the coding, all channels were completely muted. A solution to this problem has been found thanks to dmayo305

Rather than code RADIO_COUNTRY to "ECE", coding it to "Australien" seems to fix the problem.

PS. You still need to code FM_DEEMPHASIS = 50us in addition to RADIO_COUNTRY = Australien

thanks for everything. Can anyone help me or rather guide me from where to start if I have to do coding Japanese fm frequency to Australia with D CAN cable? Which module should I choose? I'm new to all this, Please help

DCAN cable CANNOT be used with E-Sys for coding F-series. You can use it to code E-series cars only if I'm not mistaken. You need an ENET cable for F-series, they are available on Ebay and on Amazon as well as many other places for ~$20.

To code the Radio for Australia you simply need to change one line in the NBT Module. Search for RADIO_COUNTRY in the NBT module, click on edit and there should be an option that says Australien.

It's all in the post you have quoted above.

Hi, I'm new to the F Series and and trying gto figure out how to change my 2015 116i Japan spec radio to work in my country(Jamaica). So far I think I need to get E-Sys program and the E-Sys cable to do this? I can buy the cable from Amazon but where do I get the software from? Thanks.

It looks like BimmerCode can code NBT / HU_NBT. Check the apple App Store if you want to use your phone. I think it’s also available for android devices.

If you want plain e-sys, request it from Shawn in the thread called Coding Software. He will send you links to your private messages.

help someone please. car from the usa F25 2017.
I need a radio for Europe

I also have a problem with the sound after changing these settings:
RADIO_COUNTRY = ece
FM_DEEMPHASIS = 50us
ANZEIGE_FREQ = nicht_aktiv

maybe I need to change or delete another parameter? (possibly in VO?)
