Finally Got my F80 M3

Hello Everyone and that you all for all the useful information.
Here is a little background of my cars. As my first car I started with my mothers car, it was a LADA 110, Russian car, worst build quality that you can imagine.

It was a fun car, cheap to maintain and supper light. I had some fun with that car and after 2 years it was time to change and get something better and nicer ride. So my next car was Peugeot 406.

After LADA it was a blast. At the time i din't know about all the reliability issues that French cars have. Build quality was way better, interior was nice, it had manual transmission, nice car overall. Then I have moved to USA. Land of opportunities lol. As a result of that I got my first real car 2007 e90 BMW 328i.

It was a dream come true for me. I was driving a car that I couldn't dream about 1 year ago. It was RWD Alpine white with black interior. After having that car my obsession with BMWs begins. Shortly after that I find out about this forum. I was reading every article. Looking all the pictures possible, and trying to have my own mods and changes on my car. I installed 18" CSL style black wheels, blacked out the chrome grill and etc. nothing huge just small changes to make my car to be different from all others ( at least in my mind i did ).

After having the car for 8-9 months I was in an accident. There was an accident in the freeway and I couldn't stop so I was the last one to join the party. At first the car didn't look too bad, I thought they can fix it and I will be back on roads with my dream car in no time. After 3-4 days I got a call from insurance that the car might be totaled since the overall expenses are over 70% ( i might be wrong about the percentage) of the car so they will total the car.

I didn't know what to do, I loved that car and to be honest I still love that car the best. So I was in the market again, with the check that I got from insurance company and a crappy rental Dodge I was out for car shopping.

I started with the same car, after couple of visits to different used car dealerships, I decided it might be a smarter choice to lease a new car instead of buying an old one. I will be in a new car with the same amount of payments and in 3 years I will change it. So I started looking for a new car. I was cross shopping BMW f30, BM C class, Audi A4, Lexus IS. I went to all the dealerships and test drive the cars, at the time f30 was a little out of my budget so I end up buying the Lexus, it was the cheapest with all the toys and stuff you need, it had F sport package, red interior Dark Grey exterior.

It was a nice car to have but every time I was driving it I was thinking about my BMW. after couple of months I decided to go to a BMW dealership and just test drive some cars and have some fun ( btw never do it, if you can't control yourself). It was Sunday morning my friends were busy, my gf was studying so I went alone.

I started with used e90 328i, then decided I should try 335i because the price was not that different. After being in the dealership for 2-3 hours the CA told me to try the new f30s. The lease was almost the same as buying e90, plus it was October so they had really good intensives. And that was it, I test drove the car ( again alpine white with black interior) and decided that I will take that hit will trade in the Lexus and get the BMW. It was unenviable, I was so happy I didn't even check anything on the deal ( I'm pretty sure he made tones of money on that deal). Anyways he helped me to drive the car I like with the payments that I could afford (At the time i didn't know that was not smart to shop by payments).

After getting the car, I changed the wheels with my CSL 18" wheels, I decided that will get the carbon fiber interior trim for it, and made a list of changes I wanted to do. Well as you all know the life changes and the circumstances change, I got an offer for new job in San Diego ( I was living in LA at the time), I decided to take the job. So I have moved to SD, it was good I was here for the week and driving back the weekends spending time with family and friends. But there was a down side I was ( and still am) driving 500 miles per week, so in one year I had 26000 miles on a lease car, what to do ? Should I buy a cheap car for long drives and keep my BMW for the weekends ? But that wasn't fun I didn't want to end up driving a used old car form LA to SD back and forward every week, and enjoy my BMW just on the weekends. I got a little raise and as usual American I decided that I can change my car, so next logical step for me was to return my lease ( take the hit again ) and get a new BMW. Only this time I will buy one, since I don't want to deal with the mileage issues again. So I was back in the market. I was looking for f30 msport, it started with 328i, and then slowly turn into 335i, and before you know it they discontinued the 335i and replace it with 340i. It was great news, the only down side was it was getting really expensive, with everything I wanted it was getting close to 60K.

I was buying the car so I have to live with it for longer time, then one day I was in BMWusa.com, and as usual bulting the car to my specs and trying to save as much as I can, and thought to try to build a M3. So i opened a new tab, and started building it, well at first the car was close to 75-80k and the I have satartet to removing the toys that I don't care and need. After reading in the forums about stripper m3 and how good it is, I have decided that it is better to have a stripper m3 than fully loaded 340i. So that was it I have decided already, thanks to you guys and thanks to all the information that I have found in the forums I started the process of the ordering the car. Talked to different dealers to see who had allocations, and finally on February 12 I have ordered my dream car Alpine white bmw m3 with black interior and manual transmission. And today march 10 my car went into the production, now I can't wait to have my baby here.

Sorry for long post hope you guys enjoyed my story.

Welcome to the family, once you go M its hard to go back.

Its a big step over the 340i and apples to oranges when it comes to the Lexus you had.

Hello everyone thank you for the messages.Sorry for not good formatting of the text, will try to improve my post overtime.

It is an amazing car, I have already 200 miles on the car, and it's great. Can't wait to have the 1200 mile service done so I can start truly enjoy the car's full potential.

I just have some trouble with the reveres in Manual transmission, it's a little hard to get in, is it normal and I will get used to it or it would be better to take it to dealership ?

Once I wash the car myself will upload couple of nice pics.
