5th Blackstone report, Liqui Moly 5w40 Molygen

First batch of LM after using Castrol 0W40 Euroblend on all the previous samples. On this oil I worked the engine harder than normal with a few forays close to redline at sustained high speeds while in Mexico (wink, wink).
Although it's obvious the Mann filter is doing an exceptional job, I'm particularly happy about the the Iron, Potassium and Sodium levels falling to nil number ranges.

Agreed. Thanks for sharing. I also switched to Molygen in January. Your report is comforting but im a bit curious how its doing in my car since its much colder here and the weight is higher than recommended. Will try to do a UOA at the end of the year or something.

How do you guys know Blackstone isn't being paid off by liquidmoly? =) Just saying!

To OP: what was the cause of the sodium/potassium? Coolant leak? I'm a decade and a half long user of 0w40 GC / BC variants and never seen that kind of spike. It did trend downwards drastically though.

For those using LM Molygen, are you not concerned that its not LL01 certified? I actually use it in my wife's 2019 Audi Q7 3.0T, but I used Castrol on my F80.

I recently switched to Molygen from Castrol Edge for 20k miles. I realized it is LL01 certified. It says it on the bottom of the bottle.

Note that it says recommends and not that its certified as it says on their other products.

Good catch. I didn't see the "recommended" part on the bottle. I guess I'm going with Super Tec next time.

Haha I'm not sure if they were being sneaky but I think the whole point of the molygen lineup is the special dye agent that helps you detect leaks. I'm thinking that dye is the reason they cannot specially submit it for official approval. This is just my guess. I'd probably use it for older cars but I just used it on my wife's Q7 becuase it was on sale and cheap.

Intercooler leak. I did a oil change immediately after I bought the car, sent in a sample and saw elevated levels. Then I dug into the service history (dealer let me peak at his screen) and we saw a full replacement a year prior.
