Love the blended MP parts. Still can't believe even a true M car doesn't come with steel peddles. Just a shame you have to buy them separately. Those rubber/plastic ones just cheapen the look of any car.

You do not need the MPE. That car is loud enough on its own!

The M4 has been awesome fun, great as a daily driver, happily plodding around town with the kids in the back. But more importantly gets my blood pumping when an open dry road appears in front of me and playtime begins. It's an awesome car and by far the most enjoyable ownership experience to date for me.

Aside from the driving, I have a new found addiction to detailing and I've enjoyed maintaining it to a better than new standard even when driving it daily in the uk rain and muck.

With this new addiction comes the inevitable next step of attending shows, going on track days and really embracing the full potential of the ownership experience. Then comes Instagram and the pointless pursuit of followers etc etc.

It's been a wild ride but it was time for a change.

The search didn't last long, a peripheral glance at Jaguar, Mercedes, Porsche, Nissan (gtr has always turned my head) ensued for about a week. But at the price point I was looking at, up to £80k for a new car I have inevitably ended right back where I started.

So decision made, m4 competition pack was the way forward. But it needed to be special. Swopping my car for another mineral white m4 seemed a bit silly and I have no yearning for any of the other standard colours so individual was the way forward.

Next problem. How far could I push the boundaries for a daily driver? On the list was fire orange, Mexico blue, San Marino blue, java green and signal green.

Being a sucker for the paints potential to turn heads I went on a mission to visit as many individual cars as I could find in the UK dealer network. And then I saw it. A verde mantis M3 at Sytner Maidenhead. It was stunning. Decision made, all boxes ticked for me but this one had too many doors.

So that's the colour sorted but what about the interior. I decided to go for full leather for this one but I hate black leather. What on earth goes with bright green apart from black.....Nothing! So the individual aspect came into play again and full black leather with green contrast stitching was decided on. In the hope it would lift the dark interior to tie in with the verde mantis paint.

That was back in October 2017 and my bartering with 6 dealers over a verde mantis m4 build began. In early November the spec list was finalised and deposit paid. And the long 6 month wait began.

Final spec is as follows.

Bmw m4 zcp individual verde mantis
Silver 666m wheels
Dct
Reverse assist camera
Extended storage
Carbon fibre interior trim
Adaptive LED's
Surround view
Head up display
Harman kardon
Black full leather with java green contrast stitching (close enough, apparently they don't have verde mantis cotton thread!)
Carbon fibre mirror caps
Mperformance steering wheel with race display and carbon trim
Mperformance front lip (painted verde mantis)
Mperformance side skirts (painted verde mantis)
Mperformance rear lip spoiler
Mperformance rear diffuser
Colour code engine cover verde mantis

And I have taken my MPE (carbon tips) off of my first M4 and have it ready to fit to the new one.

I must say the guys at Barons BMW Bedford have been fantastic throughout. Great price, great service and have been very patient with me calling and chasing progress weekly for the last 6 months lol

Last week the car arrived at the dealers. I've been to pay it a visit albeit in delivery state as I gave explicit instructions not to wash it.
It was stunning. I'm extremely pleased but have to wait until next Tuesday to collect as the mperformance parts need to be painted and fitted.

Plans for the project are changing every day but will include full tints, lowering of suspension (likely KW HAS), spacers initially then maybe wheels next spring.

I've attached some pics from the delivery day, it's still on transport blocks so ride height looks somewhat extreme in these pics. Tonnes more pics will follow when I pick the finished car up next week.

And yes if you are a fellow Instagram user feel free to follow me under my new name @verde_m4ntis

A quick update as I've now collected the car with the colour coded mp parts and race wheel fitted.

Collection day went like clockwork, massive thanks to Karl at Barons Bmw Bedford for getting everything together so efficiently. I must say it's a pleasure to buy a car from someone who genuinely shares a passion and goes above and beyond!

I unfortunately don't have any delivery hand over photos as due to my detailing addiction I requested the car delivered unwashed by the dealer. Which true to the request they thankfully upheld.

I will be putting it through a full correction detail myself shortly but in the meantime I've given it a quick spruce up and coat of sealant and Adams patriot wax to tide over until I have time for the full works.

Here's a few pictures from today. Many more will follow on this thread as the project progresses with future mods etc.

I must say I am extremely pleased with how everything turned out. Next to get the MPE fitted....
