BimmerCode: rear fog light
I have a 2018 m4 and did the rear fog light button mod and coded it with BimmerCode. When I press the rear fog light button, I get the indicator on the dash but it does not work on the rear tail lights. I have checked numerous times that I have coded it correctly. I have searched the forum and online and could not find a fix. Anyone with any insight? Thanks

I also have the same issue with my 2018 M4... coded everything properly and got the indicator to turn on when I pressed the button but nothing showed up on the tailights... is there an additional step we need to do for the M4s vs. the M3s?

If you have 2018/2019 M4 LED Rear taillights use this code instead:
FEM -> 3060 -> NSL_Verbaut (Value= Verbaut) REM -> 3063 -> Mapping_Nebelschlussl_L_output (Value = 0x20) REM -> 3063 -> Mapping_Nebelschlussl_L_function (Value=nebelschlusslicht) REM -> 3063 -> Mapping_Nebelschlussl_R_output (Value = 0x21) REM -> 3063 -> Mapping_Nebelschlussl_R_function (Value = nebelschlusslicht) |

Can you or anyone explain what the values are? I tried switching different numbers and got a few different locations on the tail light. What does
0 x (number/letter) mean |

I used the existing dead button on the bottom left of headlight switch panel. You pop button out from the back or use pry tool, then shave off plastic prongs that are stopping button from engaging and re-install. Tommy L garage has an easy to follow vid on his channel.

Looks way brighter than taillights. Worth the 30 minutes it took to do.

I had done the lower blank button modification and enabled the rear fog lights on my 2016 M4. I have been looking for stickers to put on the blank button for 2.5 years and nothing came close to matching the lighted rear fog light icon on the dash.
I finally bought a used Euro F30 headlight switch on eBay from a guy in Lithuania at what I thought was a reasonable price. I took out the lower rear fog light button and swapped it into my existing headlight switch. I bought two, and also did this on my wife's 2018 M3, but I still need to do the coding. It looks like this now on my M4:

Did you do this with Bimmercode or did you use E-sys? I used E-sys with my M4 but the laptopI used is no longer functioning and I have a new laptop. I bought the Bimmercode app to code my wife's 2018 M3 ZCP because it looked easier but haven't played with it yet.

I have the OBDLink LX which I bought in September 2014. I have it paired to my 2016 M4. When I click Connect in the Bimmercode app, I choose F80 and I get "Connection error, Terminal status check failed". I've sent an e-mail to Bimmercode support.
I've used the OBDLink on my wife's previous 335is Coupe and on my Z4 M Roadster to read and reset codes, but not with Bimmercode. I may have used it with my M4 before to read codes, but I don't remember. Any ideas? EDIT: Never mind! I started playing with the OBDLink app and discovered that I had to update the software. Connected to Bimmercode now!

Here is a video on how to clip the rear fog button to work without buying the euro switch..
Additionally, you can also just pull out the bottom rear fog button instead of taking the whole light switch apart as shown in the video. |

I bought the Euro switch to get the rear fog light button with the icon on it. Or was that not clear from my previous post? And I already did the mod 2.5 years ago.

That’s normal. There’s no proper fog light on LCI US SPEC car(F82,F83). Proper I mean like in Europe. |
