Is rust proofing necessary?
This may seem like a silly question but I just purchased a used 2015 F83 that spent its entire life in Florida but I live in Iowa. Is rust proofing necessary on today's vehicles, even if this car was bought and driven in Florida?
Thanks, Cody |

Salt will destroy the undercarriage of your vehicle over time. Google "BMW 12 year rust" and it'll give you more information on BMW's warranty thing

I've heard rustproofing only makes it worse.

The whole damn chassis is paint dipped. If you get rust it's going to be on an underside component that shouldn't be rust proofed. Most exposed bolts are zinc coated too.
