Your car looks way better (I'm obviously biased). The folks who are saying the F80/82 looks dated and the G80/82 look more modern are only saying that because they know the progression of the car. To the average Joe Blow on the street, he'll still be asking ten years from now if you just bought your F80/82.

I've been looking at these cars a lot, and I *finally* found a color combo which I don't think makes the car look horrible (pictured below). However, I've come across a new issue. Those carbon seats which look so cool on their own look WAY out of place in these cars. The cars aren't wild enough to pass these seats, they just aren't. You can really see how the carbon seats stick out like a sore thumb in this car, its too damned pedestrian and boring for those seats. At least in my opinion hah.

Now that you mention it, I definitely see it. The seats will be at home in a mclaren , but don't belong in an m car

Don't love it, but to be honest, white is one of the more appealing colors I've seen. I don't hate it nearly as much as yellow.

I still see a lot of people "trying" to like this car because it's an M3. No question the brand because of its lineage has (and deserves) that kind of hard look. Honestly it's just DOA. When this car is out of production people will look back on it as BMW's greatest mistake.

Your analysis is spot on, you nailed it. Be careful with how you discuss the G80, you might get banned.

Ugh, that is all I have to say for the G80. Your car on the other hand still looks beautiful and fresh. Great design that ages well will always be timeless, and thats what the F8X, among other generations of M3 are. This G8X has already aged poorly in my opinion, and its not even old.

Like another poster said, those saying the G8X dates the F8X are drinking kool-aid. I had the chance to spend the day with a Z8 a few months ago. I received countless comments about how beautiful the car was, as well as whether it was brand new and of course how expensive it was. Clearly it wasn't very dated to the public.

Looks awful, the face has always been bad, but the G22/82's side profile is a poor effort at design. Faint and soft body lines that lack cohesiveness and present a bloated look. This car looks so boring from the side, and lacks the sharp and svelte look the F32/82 have due to their harder body-lines and proper kink. The reverse kink isn't flattering and very reminiscent of an Audi A5 and 6th Gen Chevy Camaro.

It's not even out of the dealerships yet and me and everyone I know think it's the greatest mistake already.

I think the main reason for that is that BMW have had a universal design heritage in one way or another which looks very 'BMW' to the public, and as such they have a hard time distinguishing the generations and to be honest even some of the first M car's still look fabulous, although they don't look "new" anymore, they still maintain status and still turn heads.

I'm gonna hate seeing these things in my mirrors, it's just so unflattering from every angle..

Its really to bad BMW had to drop such a ugly thing out their *ss

With so many other manufacturers hitting home runs ( or even doubles ) and EV cars gaining traction...there are to many other option's for enthusiasts to finally make the move to.

I think this car will prove to be a strike out & will cost them in the sort and long run.

And NickyC...your totally right about the seats looking way outta place.

Yup... i’ve always thought it looked like a neutered & half a baked Mustang.

I’m actually getting some service done as I write this.. a friend of mine is a salesman and just offered to let me check them out. They just got both ( m4 and m3 ) in.
I told him do I have to? Or can I just sit in the waiting room and look at pictures on my phone of my F 82 :-).

Exactly this and could not of been said any better with the F80/82 aging well along with the seats being somewhat out of place. Doesn't match exterior at all. If only the seats came out 6yrs earlier with the F80/82 - perfect match.
