Have DCT but want manual - swap transmission?
Hi guys,
I have drove the car over 10k miles now, and I love everything about the car except the DCT. Test drove the DCT, and felt really nice for first few weeks, but got boring after a while Anyway, is it possible to swap the DCT transmission to 6MT? And the cost wise, is it worth swapping or trading in for another 6MT? Thanks! |

My lease ended so I ordered a manual, previous car was DCT.
Definitely no regrets I am loving the 6MT! I had your exact thoughts. I modded my car pretty fast too on the last build, plus I drove it was my daily, so the excitement faded really quick. The DCT is just so fast, so efficient; it's both good and bad for those reasons. It's like playing a video game. Financially, the value depends on how badly you want to switch it up. Whether you lease or purchase, you're going to be looking at a loss when trading or selling the car unless you're at lease end/return. |

I feel you. I'm bored of my DCT as well. This was my first "Auto" car ever. It was supposed to be a daily driver. For daily driving it's great, but now that i have a separate work vehicle, i should have gotten a 6spd F80.
i don't think it's worth the transmission swap financially. And it sounds like a headache. Just sell it and get it in stick. |
