Roof Rack

I've started tentatively looking into replacing my 335i with a used F80. I ski and ride a road bike so a roof rack would come in handy but with the CF roof I believe a traditional rack won't mount.

Two choices then; go for a steel roof or look at suction racks. Has anyone got any comments on either option?

There was a thread on here recently about drilling into the carbon fiber roof for a rack. I believe the mounting holes are present and just need to be exposed. Search around for it.

Thanks both. I had seen that thread but it looked a bit extreme, I wonder how many people would actually have the bottle to drill into their CF roof??

With the exception of that thread most comments are from 2014/15 when the F80 was first released. I guess in my mind I was hoping BMW had reinstated the lugs further into model production....
