VTT Crankhub Fix

Just wanted to see if anyone has had this installed yet. Interested interested because I don't want to go through with drilling, I know there is a ton of unexpected labor but figured I'd take advantage and get turbos done too.

Input would be nice.

I've looked into it. I think the hardest decision is going to be the crank hub vs capture bolt. The best guarantee is doing both, but if this continues at a significant rate of issues for the F8x platform, then I have a strong feeling that BMW might issue some other fix for it. That's why I am waiting to see if it's better to have BMW fix it or go aftermarket for a big $$$.

Without a doubt upgraded turbos is a big selling point for doing it, but I've found that 600 solid hp just by running full E85 on a stock setup is more than enough for the chassis. If you don't think so checkout F80 vs the world on youtube.

I went from considering a full upgrade like you to just a capture bolt and bigger tires to run full E85.

Don't hold your breath, F8X production is coming to an end soon. I expect nothing will be done as BMW will already have shifted to S58 by then.

The SplineLock and Crank Bolt were designed to work together, installing one or the other will not put you in any safer territory.
