What parts would I most likely need to replace on this f80 M3
I am planning on buying this salvage M3 but I would like to get an opinion on what parts I would likely need to replace on this car so that I can put together a very rough repair estimate.

So 10k plus lets say 15k for repairs, you are looking at about 25 to 30 on a salvage title. That's a tough call, you better off buying a high mileage. Check out realoem and you should be able to see all the parts you are going to need. Good luck.

I second the option to just get a high mileage one. There is a lot of damage, even to the frame. You also don't know if the engine is shot. Chances are the oil leaked out of the cooler and the engine lost oil pressure. This is probably a lot more than you think to fix, considering the headlight assembly alone is a few grand.

Looks like all you need is a bumper, hood, headlight, fender, grill, and weather stripping. You'll be good to go after that.

Did any airbags blow?
There was a thread a while back on the E9X M3 site of a guy who bought a salvaged M3 and rebuilt it. I don’t think he’d do it again. A lot of hidden damage there probably but if you have money and time to burn, the decision is ultimately yours. |

Well you’d be lucky no airbags blew as the cost of replacements plus modules and trims would Jack the repair cost.
The front frame is definitely toast. The obvious hood, bumper, supports, frame points, front suspension, axles, brakes, wheels, engine components... again, a lot of hidden damage you won’t see from a picture until you get it on a lift and start removing things. If you have a trusted body shop that can go see the car, you might have a better shot getting some realistic estimates. We can only guess so much from pictures here on the forums. I don’t know if you can get this for 10k though... Engine and trans and parts as a stripper probably worth more than 10k to a salvage yard? |

i'd take it for 5k, and track it. otherwise, no.
you buy it for 10, you've got close to 20k there. that's 30k, could get a high mileage used one for around the same, with less headache. Trust me, lots of people always want to venture down this road. It hardly ever ends well for your wallet. |

OP, buy the car for $10k, then take her to a trusted body shop for a full estimate. If the cost of repair exceeds your budget, you can part the whole car out for a lot more than $10k. it will just take a lot of time and effort on your part... But I have to agree with others. If you have to ask how much, then this is not the project for you. |

There’s a few videos that are repairing these cars already done by popular you tubers. If you’re doing a lot of the work it would save on cost. U might need to pull out the frame on the right side n replace it . Headlights missing. Painting. It adds up. This car is probably 15k if there are bidders. This car used is like 58k

I would question the fact the the air bags (driver side) did not deploy. With all that damage to the driver's side front, I would expect the steering wheel airbag to deploy at the least.

you aren't going to fix that for 15,000 dollars.... it will be A LOT more. For reference, I punted a deer 15 feet in the air going 40mph in my e90 m3 about 13 years ago. It needed a hood, front bumper/grilles and a radiator and the bill was 13000 dollars. No structural anything was required and no airbag deployments.
I can almost guarantee you there is more hidden damage than you think. Unless you have plenty of hookups to get stuff at cost and reduced (or free) labor, you probably aren't going to be saving much, if any, to make it worthwhile to you. Also don't forget about diminished value when you go to resell. Id stay away... Just my opinion! |

If I was you I'd try to get it for under $10k, take it apart and get an estimate of everything you need to repair and if it's over $15k in parts, part it out. You'll be able to make good money just parting it out, but it'll take a while.

Interior photos show no airbags deployed -either from steering wheel or drivers door.
