Is there any way to adjust the steering feel as in the E92?

Not a shock or surprise. Let's be honest: The S55 is not the engine the M Division wanted to build, but the engine they had to build given all the emissions and MPG standards. It was a compromise. The S65 was probably the last, unbridled engine that BMW will ever make. Performance was the goal, pure and simple. The car came with a "gas guzzler" tax, for crying out loud.
Now the chassis on the F8x is a step forward from the E9x stock for stock, but the major selling point--solid rear subframe--can be had on the E9x relatively easily. |

OP: I went to the dealer to trade in my E92 for the new M3. After about 5 minutes of test drive I was so disappointed. I ended up buying an 06 M5 and saving $40k towards another sports car. Buy what you love and don't look back! Drive the NA cars while you can. Before you know it you wont have a choice to drive a turbo car. I'm just glad we can still find nice, low mileage NA cars, do it while you can.

I don't blame you at all, nothing will keep me away from the sound of a high revving V8! hence why I kept my e92 m and just got an e36 m3 to keep the v8 company and still have money to mod. Prices of the f80's are not worth it in my eyes.

I just have to say I love threads like these where people leave for other cars (911, M4, Z06) and end up coming back to the E9x. Just convinces me I've made the right decision, and that I should hold onto this car for a long time!

Welcome back man, we knew you would be back
Actually don't mind turbos but the steering feel and sound of the e90 m3 is hard to give up. Never felt this way about a car after three years |

They are out there you just may pay a little extra depending on what you want.
I ended picking up a 13' 6SP with zero options except comp package. Sold the M4 and never looked back. |

Was at the dealership for my free oil change and decided to stroll in the show room. Saw the F82 and I wasn't even remotely curious enough to peek in the car's interior or a test drive. Aside from specs, The F82 just doesn't appeal to me at all. Which is the reason why I ordered my 2013 E92 in May. Never looked back ever since and this E92 is still addicting to drive

I joked around with my wife and said: "My M3 E92 act's like it is a pissed off teenager" LOL The M4 on the other hand felt just like a cruizer. As if it would be compared to the M3 E92 a calm, collected adult |

In a perfect world I'd have a modified e92 as a toy and a new m3 or m4 for a DD. But u fortunately my parents aimed for the middle and I don't have a money tree... yet....

E9x vs F8x steering feel:
You can play with the amount of assist with the modes of with a tune, but an EPS system will never have as much feel/feedback as a traditional hydraulic rack.

Ahh, an "I made a mistake going to the M3/4, and want to go back to the E9x M3" thread. A perfect excuse for me to talk (complain) about my only complaint of the new F series ///M's. I may be echoing a lot of other peoples opinions here, but I think by way of looks, interior, and technological advancements, the F series is ahead of the E9x series. But I just can't get over that engine and exhaust sound
Everytime I see an M3 or 4 drive by or pull out of a parking lot, I find myself staring, and then I hear them accelerate (always at a slow, reasonable, almost trying to keep the exhaust note down pace) and I cringe. IMHO if you took an S85 and put it in the M3 or 4, it would be the perfect car. I personally will never own one due to the turbo I6. I am sure power delivery is amazing, and yes, it's faster than the E9x, but I can't get over the sound. I have never heard one that I could tolerate.

The E92 is also why more fun to drive at the track. Power was a lot more predictable with the e92. The M4 was pretty quick around the track but found its limits quickly where as the e92 would surprise me lap after lap. When I first picked up my F82 my E92 with catless pipes, ess tune and acm exhaust would walk the f82. A friend of mines had a e93 ess 625 and would pull on me upstairs with a jb4 and e85. I think I've made up my mind.
Heres a pick of the f82 at Pocono [IMG][/IMG] |
