So I purchased a used 2016 M4 and the window sticker pic attached said it has one but how do I know with the rear diffuser blocking m logo if there here is some side pics idk if that helps didn't want to remove the diffuser to check. I'm asking just so I know if I should buy a new exhaust or just mid pipe and down pipe for deeper sound

Yes, that's the Mperformance exhaust. On the muffler can you should see the word Mperformance as well. Zoom in ad you will see it.

You have it! Want a deeper sound? AA mid pipe (but you'll have to cut the current muffler). Want it louder? Downpipes.

You do. You should be able to read it on the bottom of the muffler, the part number

Look at the second pic. Looks like it was welded. See if you can get another pic to make a better assessment.

Yea it does look like there's a small leak on the side of the canister. Might want to add some braces on the side to stiffen it. I'm doing that on my M Performance exhaust just in case even though it has no cracks anywhere yet.

Make sure they upgrade to the newer V2 version when they replace it. You will be 100% covered because it’s on the window sticker so considered part of the car

Otherwise I believe it’s only 2 year warranty if it was purchased new from bmw and not on the window sticker

Would the MPE be covered under the standard 4yr/50k or the emissions 8yr/80k?

If under the standard warranty, he might be out since his car is 2016...

2016 is still under warranty unless purchased prior to this date 4 years ago, I would definitely check out that emissions warranty if not

Apparently what is in the comment above maybe anything related to the exhaust? It's a stretch but worth asking about it was a defective design

Update

So BMW coconut creek replaced the rear muffler at no charge. It's definitely quieter then the one that was on there. Maybe it's gotta break in... not sure which version it is but the Part Number was 18302357916 Rear Silencer, Titanium.

Nice! Mine was also replaced for that same reason, since it was on the original sticker nothing was an issue.

Zdrowie

Edit: It's funny because I was down there today removing the M diffuser to tinker with the "kick" sensor that opens the trunk to get it to work 100% of the time I noticed the damn ///MPerformance logo that's right in your face on the back of the muffler lol, well that might be a giveaway if you have one. Doh!
