Where does one order painted reflectors?
BMW doesn't sell these I assume.. And you can get by any state inspection by just putting on orange reflector tape on your bumpers, get them off of ebay or wherever.
IND or any respectable paint shop can do it. Even if individual paint, it still has a paint code that is very easy to match in the early life of the car.

I have had painted reflectors on my 2007 E92 and have never had any issue with it, inspection or attention from the 5-0.

those wheels look great.
I hope they are available.
It will be a real shame for the test wheels to be better looking than the production wheels.

The bright orange reflector under the headlight and next to the wheel well is the issue. It can be quite the eyesore if left unpainted as it is on the OP's picture.

Notice the pattern? E46 pre-LCI = no LED, E46 LCI = LED, E9X pre-LCI = no LED, E9X LCI = LED, F8X pre-LCI = no LED, F8X LCI = ???
This just another game car manufacturers play so that they can release an LCI/facelift/update a couple years down the road.

Some of you may remember the 08 E90 M3s really got the bad end of the stick, where the LCI tail light update appeared literally a year later.

I suppose its the sacrifice you must make to be one of the first ones on the block.

It doesn't take a genius to figure out why they do it. Look at how many people trade in their cars after 2-4 years just to have to newest and 'best' out there. Ever since the E46, it has always been incandescent bulbs for the first few years, then LED's for the LCI.

If BMW came straight out with the LED's, people would feel less compelled to go back and get the newest thing.

I have to agree though, that it is a bit ridiculous to not have LED tails on ALL cars $40k and up. If it is going to be marketed as a luxury car (which all BMW's are), then it should have LED tails and xenons as a minimum standard.
Especially when the M235 has rear LED for probably 20k less to start.

YMB strikes again, and I still like it. I really, really hope those are the 19" black wheels that will be available to the public.

Unfortunately no one asks this question when they make interviews with all those product managers who are promoting their super modern and innovative products. It would really interest me how they would whitewash that.

The back end looks meaty wide but the tire width appears a little thin by comparison.

I don't know if it's just me, or if it's just the lenses, but the taillights definitely look like LEDs to me. Zoom in on the far left and right portions of each taillight; you can see dots as if they are LEDs.

Easiest way to answer the LED debate:
Does the F32 428i/435i have LED taillights? If so, then so will the M4, end of story.

Your Honor I believe I will retract my statement, the M4 is looking extremely good right now. I will withhold any further statements until I've had a chance to review the evidence face to face.

HRE and ADV1 to name a couple carry the exact style of wheel as do many other wheel manufacturers. I have a feeling they will not be and option
