The good news what that it left Bremerhaven 2-days ahead of schedule. Hopefully there are no major storms or delays at the next port. If so, the vessel will be at the NJ port next Thursday.

Curious as to how many days is should take to get down here to VA Beach? I looked at the sticky info so it says about 3-5 days but that seems long to me.

The Thalatta doesn't seem to stop in Virginia. Do they drive it from NY?

Yup, it will be transported to Virginia via some carrier service through BMW.

So 3 days from when it docks in NY? That seems fast as I imagine it will take 1-3 days to get to the Tri-state area dealerships.

By the way Thalatta needs a JB4 upgrade. It's now getting into NY on the morning of the 13th. Actually to be accurate it's running 13 hours behind schedule.

Behind or ahead? Reported is I believe what the operator had scheduled - calculated is what the ETA appears to be now? So isn't it ahead of schedule?

I see you are in Texas so I have a dumb question. What port does your car get off at Charleston, SC? Are you doing PCD delivery. I know there is a new BMW processing center opening up in Texas right? Just curious.

I am in Texas, but mine is getting off in NJ. I ordered it through BMW of Bloomfield, and am hoping to do PDC delivery if Tony can arrange it but I've not heard any news yet. Otherwise I will be flying to NJ and driving it all the way home to Texas.

Yes - a new one has opened in Galveston just recently to serve the 4 states down here better.

Cool, I was just curious. I almost went out of state as well but my local dealer matched the deal that would have taken me to Maryland. I hope your CA can schedule the PCD. I did ED for the M but I did PCD for a 335D that I had a few years back and it was awesome. My wife actually liked the PCD better than the ED. Nothing beats driving your own car on the ring in my opinion

Back in March when I ordered this my dealer couldn't even get me an allocation until about July or August - they get 2 a month and had 9 signed orders ahead of me waiting for a slot! Tony had one available at a good price so I jumped on it always knowing that timing would be tight. My Dad and his wife arrive from NZ in Houston on the 5th of June, so ideally I need the car before then to pick them up, meaning I have to do PDC in May or first few days of June to make it viable. With the car not arriving till about the 12 I'm not sure if PDC can schedule me in - I hope so!

You know what - I don't know. I assumed reported is actual and calculated is what they just assumed based on other metrics. But it could be the reverse.

Only reason I see it the way I do is that the Reported is a round number which is likely a scheduled time, whereas calculated is too "exact" for a shipping company to schedule - to me it's the tracking app calculating that "at speed x with y distance to cover plus/minus correcting factors, I expect it to arrive at this time".

Might be Monday before it pops up again on the free trackers (nearing Halifax, CA). After that it might disappear again until it nears NY (really, NJ) on about Wednesday.
