New Bimmerworld Wheels released!
Have you seen this? It looks like a new Flow Formed wheel option is hitting the market!
I love my TEAL16s but they aren't available in many offsets, now these have many many more! A few weeks ago at VIR I saw them in person, they looked so nice! Getting three sets for the CS which has been using an old set from my E90 https://www.bimmerworld.com/TA5R-Whe...aign=cta1-tech NEW! BimmerWorld TA5R Wheels Fully-featured wheels at great prices! BimmerWorld is proud and excited to release the newest addition to our wheel line: The flow-formed TA5R, which joins the fully-forged TA16 in our proprietary in-house Technical Alloy (TA) wheel brand. The TA5R has been designed for enthusiasts wanting a strong, light weight and affordable wheel with optimal fitments. Our TA5R is among the strongest flow-formed wheels on the market but with a similar weight to other lightweight track wheels. The sleek design is similar to some current factory designs and the curved spokes allow massive caliper clearance for big brakes. TA5R Features: Strong: 18" wheel exceeds other flow-formed wheels in load rating (720 kg), 17" is equal to or exceeds other wheels (660 kg). The inner lip has been reinforced with more material to avoid bending. Light: 17" wheels come in at 17 lbs, 18" wheels range from low-18lbs to under 21lbs depending on wheel width. Clearance: Huge spoke clearance for big brakes! 17" clears most 355mm kits. 18" clears many 380mm kits. Fitment: E36, E46, E90, E92, F30, F32, F80, F82, F87, Z3, and Z4. Including M2, M3, and M4. Carefully chosen sizes and offsets for both staggered and non-staggered sets. Colors: Silver, Gunmetal, Gloss Black available in all sizes and offsets. Low Price: 17" starts at $250 per wheel. 18" starts at $304 per wheel. Functionality is the most important quality in a wheel to us, and the TA5R fits the bill perfectly, but looks are what push most buyers over the edge. Everyone at BimmerWorld HQ loves the sleek and modern style of the TA5R, and this timeless design looks great on every BMW we've test fit them on. The spokes extend to the outer lip which makes the wheel appear larger. The style alone is similar to the race wheels on our M4 GT4 race car as well as the BMW Style 763M used on the M4CS. Fitment Options We used our decades of experience buying, selling, and using wheels on both the street and the race track to come up with ideal fitments for E36, E46, E90, E92, F30, F32, F80, F82, F87, Z3, and Z4 models. They're available in 17" (8.5" and 9" widths) and 18" (8.5" through 11.0" widths) with various offsets. See the TA5R page for the full list of sizes. Color Choices From an aesthetic point of view, color choice is a close second to overall wheel design, so we have all wheel sizes available in three colors: a bright Silver, deep Gunmetal, and Gloss Black. Strength & Rigidity The barrel and outer rim of the TA5R are roll formed, making it extremely strong and rigid. We've also added extra material to the rim lip for outstanding strength and resistance to bending, as this is where we've seen the most damage in other wheels. Plus, the spokes extend to the lip edge making them even more robust. TA5R has passed SAE testing standards (more rigorous than typical JWL/VIA tests) with some of the highest load ratings for a flow-formed wheel: 660kg/1,455lbs (17") and 720kg/1,587lbs (18"). |

I have a few sets of ARC8. They're nice wheels as well, but these are much nicer. For example in the rear where it mates up to the car, forged wheels like my TEALs or BBS FIs will have a very defined pattern that clearly looks forged vs the messy rear of the ARC8s
These wheels look very much like the TEALs in the rear. They're probably closer to the SM10/FL5 Apex wheels that also have the spoke machining, etc. |

I run the EC-7's not a bad set of wheels, but these wheels have a nicer finish. Will they release more designs? |

Sorry to bump an old thread, but did you end up picking up a set? I can't tell if that pick is the glass black. I have had my eyes on these for a while now, but stuck between this and SM-10s or even the classic EC7s

Currently I have 5 sets of the TA5R for my F80CS, 4 of them in 10.5 ET36 which I run square. It's a fantastic wheel. Also picked up a set in 10.5 square for in E90 track car. I sold all my sets of ARC8 wheels. The EC7 is nice but heavy. The SM10 etc are expensive. The pic above is gloss black. The anthracite is dark and matte, almost black. |

I picked them up primarily for track use but plan to drive on them to / from the track. The boxes say "Race Wheels" all over them. Has anyone had any issues with using them for street driving? Any issues with potholes — which are a-plenty given the winter we've had? |

So do they switch up the color or just based on stock? Only see gloss black, silver and gloss gunmetal on site.
Want to see diff between gloss gunmetal and the anthracite. Need more photos in the thread. |

I didn't realize how dark they were but I also didn't want the silver to better hide how dirty they'll be from track and autocross events. |

I got the tires mounted onto the wheels but the wheels are not yet on the car. I went to take some pictures just so you can see how they look in gunmetal as compared to the tires but every picture I took didn't represent the color accurately. The pictures make the wheels look lighter in color than they really are. In pictures (iPhone camera), they look grey. In person, they are darn close to being black.

I did a test fit today with the gloss gunmetal TA5R wheels. I've not cleaned them up yet but am happy with the look.

Trying to decide between these and ARC-8 and leaning towards 18x10 / 18x11 fitment. Any recommendations on either? My M4 is alpine white with carbon roof, which I think satin black ARC-8 would look great on.

Anyway, if you really want staggered for some reason get 10.5/11. No reason to not maximize width up front. Front tires take more of a beating that rears in M3s. 50% of the weight up front, most of the turning and braking occur there. These cars don't have enough power to really do much with the rear tires. |
