Swapped my 513m for 666m wheels, Weight Comparison
I'll admit I wasn't impressed with the 666m wheels when BMW released pictures of the ZCP package early this spring. I was a firm believer that the 513m was the best looking wheel. As time went on saw the 666m at the NYC autoshow and found they look much better in person. Saw them again at various car shows and decided I wanted a pair.
Living in the Northeast where I'm required to run a dedicated winter set for at least 4 months, I really didn't want to mount a cheap set of cast wheels from the Tire Rack. So decided I'll use the 513m as my winter set and swap the PSS on for occasional track days. I still love these wheels. As nice as these 666m are, they are boat anchors, weighing roughly 30lbs more than the 513m. But then again I guess that's to be expected as you have more rubber and alloy. I see now why the ZCP has 19 more hp, to make up for this extra unsprung weight. Car has Eibach springs and Rogue Engineering 12mm spacers all around. Before After Here it is on a level surface, as my driveway isn't I believe there is a sticky thread on the 513m weight, but here they are compared to the 666m Front Rear Front Rear |

Realistically, can you notice a difference in the increased unstrung weight? Turn In, braking, acceleration perceptibly affected?

I think I'm the minority who finds the 437m the worst looking out of the three. Especially the black. But hey it's just my opinion. Last edited by ctgeorge; 08-13-2016 at 02:16 PM.. |

Thanks for posting the complete weights...pretty sure these are the first actual numbers we've seen for the 666Ms.

Thanks for sharing. Good info.
Ouch, that's quite a bit of unsprung weight added to each corner . Car looks great though

Unreal! I almost bought a used set of the 666's..I was convinced they had to be decently light since they were with the Comp package. Thankfully i didn't..However the 666's do look cool but no thank you please

Any additional observations on differences in handling, braking and acceleration?
I have Eibachs and 513Ms with 12mm spacers. It looks better than stock, but the thick sidewalls aren't my thing. I was looking into 666Ms as well. |

I'm going from 666 comp wheels to 513. Go figure Questions how does the diameter works out are they almost the same size. Do you have any issues with traction control. Thanks.

I feel no difference in braking or acceleration. Pretty happy in general with my purchase. Diameter on both sets are roughly the same at 26" |

Wheel has to sustain an exponential increase in force applied to it from the axle and impacts applied to it from a much reduced sidewall. Hard to do that without gaining weight.

Op is your car lowered? Do you use spacers? Do you find the ZCP wheels to be sticking out more vs stock wheels you had? I mean 666 are wider so wondering if the added width goes inside or outside the wheel well.
