Best differential bushing setup for street?
It's time to replace the differential bushing on my 2015 non-ZCP M4. Currently, I have the pre-LCI rubber ones, which are known to crack. I've noticed that most people choose Turner or PowerFlex mounts. However, I've heard some reports about NVH issues with PowerFlex and purple bushings and even the Turner poly mounts.
What's a good setup for street use? I'm considering the Turner mount with two OEM poly bushings. Would that be advisable? |

I don’t recall any NVH with issues with the PowerFlex diff bushings. I’d also recommend installing a diff dual-mount when you do your diff bushings:

I've never heard of anybody having NVH issues with the OEM bushings in the dual mount, with stock front bushingsl. I have heard of NVH issues with PF fronts and dual PF rears, but it seems to not occur in most cases and if there is any, its just a minimal amount of added whine. ECS reds or PF Blacks seem to be where real NVH starts up.

I replaced mine at about 65000 miles with dual Turner Poly Bushings kit. Check out the video description for links and more info. Video description includes some early thoughts on the upgrade.
It’s been a year, and I can say it’s very much muted now. Happy I went this route.

If its only for street, dont bother doing the dual bushing bracket. Its overkill in my opinion, the main goal is to replace the rubber bushing that usually tears and wears out quickly. Poly is a good replacement for this.
I did purple PF fronts and rear and have no complaints. It also felt good on track so i dont feel like im missing out on anything with the dual bushings. The stock front bushings were fine after 100K miles but i changed them out while was in there. Last edited by hC1001; 05-22-2024 at 08:16 AM.. |
