I just resolved my squeaking problem with the Klifex kit and i used the new spring. Everything went together smoothly. I got lazy and just cut around the plastic cover to gain access to the PCV without have to remove anything other than the engine cover.
Took about 45 mins from start to finish and I used Epoxy to seal mine on. I'll keep everyone updated in regards to how long this repair will last. But the car is idling much smoother and drivability noticeable improved.

That's great news Joe, well done.
My car is sounding like my old Mazda RX-8. There's a whirring sound accompanying the revs and while I have no error codes, I have gone the route of a new valve cover. Going to be installing at the weekend so will be glad to have it done.

I got the noise at 72k miles now. I’m going to have my PCV valve cover replaced.
https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/bmw...er-11127846359 I see it “Comes with (1) 11127587804 Valve cover gasket, (14) 11127576310 ASA Bolts, (10) 11127584156 ASA Bolts, (8) 11127544369 ASA Bolts” My question is what other parts do I need to get to have my valve cover replaced? Maybe coolant I’m assuming some with have to be drained when moving around the tanks/intercooler to access the area. I’ve already done spark plugs and coils 14k miles ago. So I don’t see new plugs and coils needed.

11-12-7-850-244 There were no ASA bolts replaced according to my WO#. Only 3 items were replaced. Valve cover, the gasket, and the vent hose. |

You will need to swap the engine cover pins and a few small bits of hardware (metal clips) over to the new cover. You do not need to drain coolant, just disconnect the MAP sensor at the back and lift the intercooler out of the grommets and move over to the side. There's plenty of slack in the piping to allow this. The vent hose (for PCV under boost) gets very brittle and is incredibly easy to snap when removed from the old valve cover. BMW state to remove it from the turbo inlet pipe rather than the valve cover. When I did my VC gasket I made absolute shite of this pipe and taped it up until I got a new one. The only other thing you'll need to replace is the gasket on the valve actuator which is very easy. Vent hose - 11 12 7 850 244 Actuator Gasket - 11 37 7 502 022 Just to note also - if you get some smoke upon start up after everything is back together don't worry, it's just that a small bit has dripped onto the exhaust as the VC was removed and it will clear up after a few minutes.

I recently installed a new valve cover and I still have squeaking. Has anyone come across this before and solved it?
It's like as though there's a cover/protector on the underside of the valve cover which no one knows about therefore I dind't remove before installation but as far as I know the cover comes in a bubble wrap bag in a box and is ready to install. After reading another thread I'm going to replace the year-old vent hose in an attempt to solve it but I'm not filled with confidence if I'm honest. Thanks for the input SM. No, I haven't pulled the oil cap but I have a new hose arriving tomorrow.

Hopefully it's just that otherwise it's an engine seal.

I saw some posts on the M3/M4 that people have been successfully running an N55 valve cover from Amazon with no issues, and it solved their PCV issues. Here's the link to what they were talking about: https://www.amazon.com/MITZONE-Perfo.../dp/B0C557T5LC
I don't know what to think about having an aluminum cover like that, but removing the side channel on the passenger side on the cover, works for them. Very interesting and I would consider this a good option if replacing just the PCV doesn't work. Now I'm curious who the OE for BMW for their valve covers, and that would be ideal for a quality piece.

It wasn't the hose although I have replaced it regardless.
The noise was coming from the back of the engine but it has since cured itself and the car is driving like an absolute trooper now. I have absolutely no idea how it fixed itself but the last thing I did was completely remove the valve cover, reseat the gasket and reinstalled it. The noise was still there but after a few days it just disappeared on its own. It was only after this when I fitted the new hose so fingers crossed it's all ok now.
