Exclamation M2 CS Steering wheel install nightmare!!!

Hey everyone, new to the forums and new to the F80 Chassis so sorry if this topic is a repeat of another one.

So I had purchased an M2 CS style alcantara steering wheel that came with all the buttons and wiring and install has not been ideal as it been 3 attempts to fix my problem. First time install the paddles didn't work but all the buttons on the wheel worked (mind you this wheel was all plug and play and had everything on it) only fault I got was for blind spot monitoring. 2nd attempt I installed that drivers assistance sensor on the new wheel and also had changed some of the wiring from my original wheel into the new one. Paddles worked the 2nd time but now all the buttons didn't work. 3rd attempt, I swapped all my original wiring to the new wheel from the original wheel and still the buttons do not work but the paddles do. Both 2nd and 3rd time after install I get a constant cruise control malfunction light on the screen.

I have heard to try to recalibrate the wheel by locking it from left to right 3 times but it has not worked. Im just thinking about going back to the original steering wheel at this point. And this wheel isn't a genuine bmw part but everyone that has purchased it has never had this amount of problems i have. If anyone has any insight i would gladly appreciate it

It's just a steering wheel... If you swapped over all of your parts from the original wheel to the bare bones M2 CS wheel, you shouldn't have a problem whatsoever. So, something was missed or not connected properly.
Did you disconnect the battery and open the door of the car and wait 15 minutes before removing everything?

Yes battery was disconnected all 3 installations, in terms of opening the door and waiting 15 minutes after disconnecting the battery i did not do that.

What steering wheel are we talking about here?
OEM?
Some aftermarket alternative? If so, which one?

Based on your troubles, I have to assume aftermarket. And not nearly as plug-n-play as you had assumed.

How do you know that "everyone never had problems"?
Did the seller BS you about it, or did you survey all BMW owners (duah)!

Long story short, it's time to reinstall OEM wheel and return the aftermarket junk!

You really need to disclose which aftermarket wheel you are trying to fit to your F80 for us to be able to answer the above question.

Either that, or consult a psychic!

Well aftermarket yes, its OEM replica but good quality i would say, couldnt really tell the difference from a real one to be honest...it came with all the buttons and stuff carbon trim exactly as an M2 CS wheel would come. And i surveyed people who have bought from this person and the guy even gave me their contact info. The steering wheel had come with all the wiring as well. Maybe i just need to recheck all the wiring.

3 attempts...

If it was good quality, you wouldn't be here trying to fix it because it would just work. Hard to say how to fix this. I would use OEM.
