Kufatec Active Sound Booster on F80?

Hey everyone. I've read plenty of exhaust threads and am on the fence on whether to get an AA mid pipe for my M3 to get some volume and a better tone. I realise that we are working with an engine that will never be as musical as a V8 and is unique in its own right....

However, I came across the Kufatec Sound Booster which is a small sound generator installed inside/outside the car and connected to the ECU to generate different engine sounds linked to the cars original tone and ECU.

Listening to the examples you can make V6 diesels sound like V8 small blocks, 4 bangers sound like flat plane Maserati's all by this little sound chamber and clever control mechanisms.

Is this something anyone has/would do to their F80 to get a sound they are happy with rather than switching out the exhaust?

Is this the equivalent of putting a playing card in your spokes?

Better yet...

Oh man. I just listened to their examples.

The sound of the KUFATEC Sound Booster Pro is hardly distinguishable from an original V6- or V8-engine.
Only if you're deaf.

Haha, I suppose so. I was thinking that exhaust merely tune the exhaust gas pulses to output a certain way to create noise.

This is basically the same thing and thought it might be a way to achieve something that's sounds ok vs the usual exhaust options or at least something different...maybe not.

This sounds really lame. Almost along the lines of plastic brake caliper covers to make small brakes look like brembos.

Only acceptable way to make an F80 sound better, big single turbo.

Definitely a BIG no for me. I am not a fan of the stock exhaust, but I'd rather listen to that than turn the cabin into a house of exhaust note lies.

Maybe I'm in the minority here, but to me, part of the joy of a cool exhaust note (mine OR others) is hearing it in the wild. Even if you get the cabin to artificially sound like a big, nasty V8 with the windows up, everyone else around you still hears that signature rusty lawnmower note.

Looking at some of their videos they actually get welded into the exhaust and alter the pulses so it's fakery but not necessarily in the cabin and only electronic...the chamber actually resonates air and pushes it out of the exhaust changing the exhaust sound.

Guess with a diesel its not a bad option.
