Will my M2 snow tire/wheel set fit?

Or should I say, will the car have an issue with the tires being a slightly different size?

I have the 640M tire/wheel set for the M2. That's 18" wheels that per realoem match the same set sold for the M3.

The difference is in the tires. Mine are 255/35/18 in back and 235/40/18 in front.

Realoem lists the winter tires for the M3 as ... well I don't think they are correct
255/40/18 and I think that is both for front and rear.

Anyone have the OEM 640 setup for the M3 and can verify the tire sizes. My gut tells me these will work just fine (I know they will fit, I just don't want any issues with the traction/stability control flipping out.

I have the 640M set for my M3. The front and rear tires are the same size (255/40/18).

Garage List
I have the 640M winter wheel/tire set and it came with 255/40R18 at all four corners.

The 235/40R18-255/35R18 M2 tires might be on the small side for an M3/4.

https://tiresize.com/comparison/

If you use the link above you can compare. Side wall .5 inch shorter and 1" in overall diameter, so your speedo is off 4%.

Unless you only going to use hundred miles or so...I would buy recommended size 255/40/18 or alt. 245/45/18 for proper ground clearance, speedo, sidewall for heavier car, etc...

good luck

BTW- My 640m have factory mounted 255/40/18 continentals ts830 p all-around on staggered 8.5" front/9 rear wheel. Was purchased as complete wheel from BMW for M3/M4.

Thanks Brix, great site!

I ran the comparisons - wow, very interesting. The M3 snow tire combo is fine (very similar to winter setup). But my M2 winter setup - especially compared to my summer setup, wow - 1.3" difference on my snow tire (rears) vs. summer rears!

FYI for those interested, the wheels/tires fit perfectly on my 2018 M3 - no issues whatsoever.
