I think I've managed the flash.
I did it the way blackey did in post #47. (manual manupulation from the tal file)

After flashing and recalulate svt target I see the GTS version in blue as actual version.

That looks fine .

Would anyone have a solution, I flashed the GTS file which ended up with a fault in the esys.

Strangely enough the flash actually went trough and was successful but esys reported a red flag and some error.

Could someone please decode this error for me?

MCDdiagService<id=3800> transferdata, description=warning:timing violation (no error) link EGS4

Thanks

So I get that SWFL_000038C1_000_056_000 is the GTS DCT software for the EGS4 module, but how do I know which variant it is: US spec vs EU spec? Does the EU spec have a different ID?

The reason I ask is I've read THOR uses a newer (Nov 2019?) EU spec flash for the GTS DCT package, while BM3 uses an older US spec variant, and I'm trying to figure out the difference in terms of flashed files.

38C1 is EU spec, and 38C2 is US spec.

It is said that it will return if the original SWFL is FLASH with the original FA. Thanks for your help.

Any idea what the difference is between these two? Just trying to learn!

I've seen a few references to there being an updated GTS DCT map from Nov 2019. What is the minimum target IStep level for this? Does it apply for both US/EU variants, or just one?

has anyone tried to flash CS flash for DCT transmission?
FA changed to 3S71, date 0319 and added 7ME

SVT calculated showed two SWFL to be replaced -
BTLD_00001F6C_001_001_009
HWEL_00001F6A_001_001_002
SWFL_00001F6E_000_056_000
SWFL_00001F70_000_056_000

SWFL_000067EC_000_064_001
SWFL_0000695C_000_064_001

read here on forums that CS DCT flash is smoother than GTS flash - so trying to figure how to with esys.

As long as BTLD and HWEL are the same you're fine.
Try and give us a feedback.

Thanks, I will try during the week/weekend when I will have also time for some test drive. I also have the MHD flasher which allows for DTC flashing with their CS or GTS map - I would like to see which files the MHD actually uploads. Will post the results.

It depends on whether you are reading VCM or ECU and if you wrote changes to VCM.

Ok so finally was able to flash the "CS DCT" map using MHD flasher and try it.

Stock was:
BTLD_00001F6C_001_001_009
HWEL_00001F6A_001_001_002
SWFL_00001F6E_000_056_000
SWFL_00001F70_000_056_000

After MHD CS DCT flash (changed file in red):
BTLD_00001F6C_001_001_009
HWEL_00001F6A_001_001_002
SWFL_00001F6E_000_056_000
SWFL_00002290_000_056_000

Shifting is better (no surging in lower speeds 3rd gear to 2nd gear). So far so good. What surprises me is the file that has been changed - I was expecting to have 2 SWFL files replaced (based on my previous FA play).
Is anyone able to explain where/why the SWFL_00002290_000_056_000 is chosen?

My steps are as folllwing on page 1. I’ve read SVT to check in the swfl file. Is there any steps that I miss?

If you have unchecked update VCM in E-sys options, then post-programming, read svt will not change.

stock vs CS vs GTS EGS/DCT versions

Just to sum up for anyone who is interested in the DCT software versions (blue highlights the differences to the stock version):

Stock (Non-CP) EGS/DCT (i-step F020-20-07-525)
BTLD_00001F6C_001_001_009
HWEL_00001F6A_001_001_002
SWFL_00001F6E_000_056_000
SWFL_00001F70_000_056_000

"MHD CS" version flashed using MHD flashing software (tested-works better that stock for me):
BTLD_00001F6C_001_001_009
HWEL_00001F6A_001_001_002
SWFL_00001F6E_000_056_000
SWFL_00002290_000_056_000

CS version (using my car's FA changed to 3S71, date changed to 0319 and added option 7ME) - SVT resulted in the below variants (not tested in the car as I am fine the the MHD version of flash so far):
BTLD_00001F6C_001_001_009
HWEL_00001F6A_001_001_002
SWFL_000067EC_000_064_001
SWFL_0000695C_000_064_001

and finaly the GTS transmissin map (as discussed in this thread earlier)just for completeness:
BTLD_00001F6C_001_001_009
HWEL_00001F6A_001_001_002
SWFL_00001F6E_000_056_000
SWFL_000038C1_000_056_000

Hi, just a follow-up question - does anyone know how to find out to which "model" or istep this SWFL variant belongs:

"MHD CS" version flashed using MHD flashing software (tested-works better that stock for me):
BTLD_00001F6C_001_001_009
HWEL_00001F6A_001_001_002
SWFL_00001F6E_000_056_000
SWFL_00002290_000_056_000

When you calculate tal, it will come from loaded psdzdata target level.

Thank you. Using esys, editing FA - the "proposed" SWFLs were diferent (see my previous psot summarising all the variants I have considered).
The swfl I have got in my car now are from MHD Flashing - using their "CS DCT" version. What I am trying to get/clarify now is what FA combination needs to be used to get to SWFL used by MHD. My psdz data is relatively new (4.24.12 june 2020) - eq to i-step 20-07-525.
