Please tell me why I shouldn't ditch my F80 for this used 2019 Audi SQ5 Premium Plus

Only reason I'm considering it. I live in the snow belt.

Tell me this is a bad idea.

I think they are sleeker than the X series.

Love how the line of the roof begins to dip below the X axis as you follow the roof line back.

I think you should definitely do it because you considered moving to a SUV an option

For informational purposes I will say lots of parts of the planet receive a lot more snow than the Northeast and they get along juuuuuuust fine swapping to winter tires every winter. In fact, many tests have been conducted which show that 'AWD/4x4/whatever' do not corner or stop any better than single-wheel-drive vehicles if all are equipped with the same tires

You’ll get bored. Don’t let that “S” fool you. If you want something to deal with weather, don’t limit yourself to the SUVs marketed as sports vehicles. Just accept that you prefer and SUV and get one.

If you do get it, I suggest also investing in an extended warranty if you plan to own it after the warranty period. Unbelievable how much we have used the extended warranty on my wife’s 2012 Q5 that has about 60K miles on it, all of which started almost immediately after the original warranty period ended.

I regularly go from my M4 to my "boring SUV" ( a Porsche Cayenne GTS). I enjoy driving both of them.

If you are actually considering this, you should do it.

Cleary the M3 platform and everything it offers is not really appealing to you. If it were, this wouldn't even be any kind of a trade/swap/question you could consider.

Because I had the ultimate drivers SUV, Porsche Macan GTS and I was still bored.

Even losing all the SUV/AWD practicality (live in Toronto with 2 boys who play hockey all over 6-7 days /week) driving the CS year round is still the better overall choice.

Obviously the Porsche is one of the sportier SUVs out there, but it is still a top heavy ponderous SUV. Just a really overpriced one.

OP - I propose considering a S5 or RS5 hatch instead. I loved my B8.5 S4 before this M3, and I've driven the new S5. While it's no M3, there's plenty to love and have fun with. I had a hell of a time in the S5 when I test drove it on the road and at the dealer's test track. Doesn't have the power of the M3, but the grip on low speed corner exit is awesome. Torque vectoring rear diff is a must have option.

I'm waiting for the glc 63 to drop down in the 60-70k Canadian range.. then M4 is gone.

I was considering the new SQ5.. I think it's a gorgeous car. Blk/Blk. . Don't think I'd give up the m4 for it though

really don't see what the big deal is? My buddy with an M4 daily drives his through Chicago winters with all season michelins. I'm sure with blizzaks you would do more than fine.

Go drive the X3 M40i. Put it in sport mode.

Audi is pretty but it’s very boring to drive compared to competition.

I get it OP, you’ve been married to Gisele Bundchen for years and you might think it’s a little stale and predictable. So you go to a bar and meet this waitress. She’s a solid 7/10, those freckles are cute, and you like the way her green eyes light up when she flirts with you. She’s not as lithe as Gisele but you kinda like how she has curves everywhere...

It seems to be going well in the moment, but let me tell you - YOU HAVE GISELE WAITING FOR YOU AT HOME. Get your fucking head out of your ass and go home to her. Never mind the porky 7/10 Audi SQ5

It's not an RS5, it's an Sq5. It will not compare.

I'd get an M340 if snow is the issue...
