The new X5 (and X7) in my opinion has the best BMW interior at the moment, its just such a shame its not really as engaging to drive as it once was, but as a luxury SUV its really nice. The only issue with going to the X3 coming from an X5 is the noticeable downgrade in quality of materials. Just like in going from a 5-series to a 3-series, the amount of cheap plastics and leathers in the 3er/X3 will be much more than the 5er/X5, and you also lose the amazing multi-contour seats, but of course you also get a smaller and more compact car with better handling in return so it depends really on what your priorities are.
Definitely agree with the quality of materials side of things, and that also may be something I need to factor in. I have full napa leather in mine right now, and I absolutely *love* it as a daily. Dare I say it's better than than the napa leather in my old F8Xs?

I think I'll need to take one for a test drive.

The F15 35D (if m sport) is a high value car right now. Supposedly those things run forever if you delete them.

65fastback wife and I have been sharing the Highlander for a year during Covid. If I didnt need a daily once things opened back up I would just go buy a 997 but unfortunately I do.
I opted to not get the M-sport version, figured it's a daily and the massive steam roller tires would get too costly to replace in the long run. Sounds like the trunk *shouldn't* be an issue from what I'm reading.

The F8X shows up to the party fashionably late but in the best outfit.

Looks like Oxford Green? Can't tell what shade of green but a beautiful color.

Crazy right? Well except for the fact that the G8X is set further back than the GT3s and the photo looks to be taken with a low focal length smart phone camera with the G8X conveniently placed in the middle/subject view or rather the 992s are placed in the areas of the focal length distortion. Spoiler alert, this is NOT how it would have looked like in real life.

I’m not saying 992 is small and my gripe has nothing to do with G8X. Lieberman knows exactly what he’s doing here...

I'm not a fan of Lieberman at all, although even I was shocked to see that he doesn't like the looks of the G8X. Seeing as he's a fan of a lot of current BMW's even the poor handling ones, I was honestly expecting him to be on the G8X love train, although as seen from his numerous recent instagram posts, he hates it as much as we do.

Looks like the British racing green I've seen on a M4 but hard to tell. Seems darker.

It is a fantastic color.

992 isn't small lol.

That's part of the issue I have with 911s these days. They have grown to considerable size actually.

There is a reason why I been aiming for the GT4. Cayman and Boxster has retained its smaller size, gotten better without being enlarged. Yes it has drawbacks (infotainment.... GR) but I would take the 718 (982) over the current 911 (992) any day of the week.

And... yeah I don't like Jonny Lieberman either.

Yup agree, and my post wasn't to imply 992 is a small car because it definitely is not anymore - I was just annoyed seeing BS social media posts like this which are clearly setup

The irony is, that post just makes the 911 look soo much wider.

I actually really like the standardized widebody across the 992 range - I think it looks great. Part of the reason it looks so wide relative to the G8X in this pic is because of the image distortion associated with wide angle lenses and their positioning relative to that distortion. A very bootleg fix in this specific pic would have been to angle both GT3s slightly inward and move the G8X up to sit equal - this would give a better representation of each cars actual relative size.

But that wouldn't be as attention grabbing, and might undermine his own post

I don't think Lieberman tried to park BMW in a way that would make it look better on Instagram.

I dunno, the front end of the G8X look to me to be at or behind the front wheels of the GT3 which would make the car look smaller in relative terms. Probably not by a massive amount but enough to try to make his point when combined with the viewing angle of the GT3s. Image distortion he has little to no control of. But positioning of the car? That's completely within his control

Edit: He does have more "fair" comparison shots of G8X and 992 GT3 on his Instagram, and although those aren't perfect either, they are framed much better and you can clearly tell that the G8X is the wider/bigger car. Still, you can also clearly tell that the 992 generation has grown a fair bit

I will give Lieberman one thing, he does at least have good taste in personal vehicles lately. His new Giulia Ti Sport looks great. The BMW looks like a poor attempt at copying someone's homework.

Yeah, you're right I said that because the F8x has received a lot of flack over the years - especially in the beginning.

But, to be fair, it's what happens with almost every BMW. This time it's more brutal, though.

It's way too big. Should've stopped at 991 sizing. But the 992 Turbo has got mad hips and I love a chubby ass so I allow it.

Also looks good in all-silver.
