Weirdest GTS ever?

I was browsing GTSs and saw this one:
https://www.cars.com/vehicledetail/d...8722/overview/
Seems like lots of stuff are missing:
1. CCB
2. OLED taillight
3. CF wing
4. Original Seat
5. Lower front lip
6. Maybe the exhaust?
And maybe the airbag light is on.
I am wondering what happened to this 1100 miles GTS, and looks like almost 40k options are replaced for a 90k car...

My guess is someone took out most of the valuables parts and try to or sold to the dealer/buyer who doesn't know about GTS.

Edit: car is at the Alfa dealership so guess dealer doesn't know about GTS other than VIN

Thats insane. Wonder if that qualifies as fraud if the seller represented the car as a GTS to the dealer knowing everything of value was removed

Well, the seller isn't mentioning the missing parts in the ad, that's for sure!

Also, what's up with the seat upholstery?

My guess is that the car is a theft recovery. The thieves stole all the good GTS-specific parts that they could easily remove.

Yeah another owner reached out to the dealer. Dealer seems oblivious to the issues and was unaware it wasn't stock, there's some chatter about it in the GTS pricing thread. The seats you questioned are standard F80 carbon cloth seats, loved them in my '14 but definitely not standard in the GTS.

I just saw this in the classifieds. I'm not saying it's the cars seats but pretty coincidental. [IMG][/IMG]

Nope unless the sale was anything other than as-is.

Dealers scam buyers all the time, it's actually pretty funny to see the tables turned.

Even more so since it was sold at Auction. You have time to inspect the car.

Yes I saw that and posted it on different thread. I did call the dealership and they seemed unaware. Today one of our forum members found the possible of the seats for sale.

interesting. probably thought he was getting the deal of a lifetime. I assume everything sold at auction is "as is"?

Think it's more likely the dealer buyer knew what was going on and assumes someone in the market will not.

This didn't get through auction without buyers recognizing it's a chop shop special.

At Manheim, you can order a PSI, which is a 7/14 day coverage with vehicle inspection.

If you misrepresent certain mechanical coverages and the buying dealership orders an inspection, they can occasionally be allowed to return the car. But the arbitration process is arduous and the arbitrators are, almost universally, assholes.

But on the whole, used cars are bought and sold as-is, whether at auction or from the dealership. Caveat emptor.

Sure looks like fraud to me...
Dealer should have known what comes with a Gts.
If not, by now, more than one person must have called to let them know. With that new knowledge, that would definitely be considered as fraud if they do not update the listing and specify the car has been stripped of $20,000 of parts.
Not a real Gts anymore...

No it wouldn't.

VIN is GTS, therefore car is a GTS. It's up to buyers to do their research.

Doesn't sound like a fun legal matter/defense.

I do not agree. The dealer IS the professional party in the transaction. If you can prove that the dealer knew it and did not disclose the missing parts you have a case.

Now we know that they know since a few of us already called them.
I would personally sue if I had just bought that car from them and find out they knew the parts were missing.
The add makes it look like a one owner clean car.

If I were the dealer I would correct that listing.
