Crazy weekend out at COTA with the Texas BMW CCA chapters and BMW CCA Club Racing. Lot of fun but was stupid hot out there - pushing 105 ambient and 150 track temp. The racing was very enjoyable but really zapped you - especially the 60 minute one. Seriously considering a coolsuit/chillout and helmet blower after this... Also got back on track with my M2 during their TT - first time on track in its new configuration and so just starting the dialing in process. Didn't get many laps in with the racing being back to back with TT but did manage to get a couple of decent laps in on Sunday. This car just gets more & more fun to drive - absolutely a blast. Can't wait to see what it can do when we have everything dialed in and some friendlier conditions.

Yeah that heat was ridiculous. Going back into hibernation for the next couple of months now except for a night event out there in July

What tune are you running on the M2?

Crazy weekend out at COTA with the Texas BMW CCA chapters and BMW CCA Club Racing.

My previous best time on the South Course was 1:49.9 (back in 2019). Because I've gotten a lot faster, I shredded the outside shoulder of my left front tire - made the decision to get camber plates a lot easier to justify (Vorshlag camber plates being installed in a few weeks - can't wait)!

Bend Calibration using Ecutek. Very happy with both. Running their flex fuel setup as well.

Yeah that was a crazy weekend - lots of fun though. A lot of the racers backed out so didn't have many of us running but still enjoyed it. Had a couple of good battles against some M2CS Racing in my E92. Didn't plan on heading back out there again this summer but decided to run the night event Friday. Glutton for punishment and all that...

Awesome! I'll see you out there. This will be my last event at COTA for a very long time

Hopefully that just means moving away and the car stays with you - and not the other way around!

We are down a car we expected in our garage - welcome to join us if you don't already have a spot set up. Too damn hot to set up in the paddock!

Really wanted to get to 1:19 but tires are fairly old. Once I get new tires and coilovers, pretty confident can break into 1:19s. Car is stock aside from the brakes.

You would have definitely had a 1:19 if you stayed on track.

What's wrong with the map?

Haha, I had to change the location settings on my phone but didn't realize it until after the track day… wasn't off-roading, I promise 😂

Pretty consistent lap times, which I was happy about. Car felt great, even after 53 laps…

It's highly likely that the phone GPS was used. Before using an external GPS, RaceChrono on my phone showed that I had a great lap at Laguna Seca because I drove over the lake.

How quick do you need to be going to hydroplane that far?

Good to know that I'm not the only one here that watches all these vids start to finish.

Beginning to think that Chicagoland has some great options...Gingerman, Autobahn, Road America, Blackhawk. All within ~2.5 hours.

Road America and Blackhawk are my favorites. Much prettier drives than ACC or Gingerman. Putnam Park is close too and a couple speedway infield circuits if those are your thing.
