Just did about 500mi from Philly to Columbus – averaged 75-80mph and 26mpg on efficient, and that with a few higher speed stretches in there.
Aside from the pothole anxiety, it was a phenomenal highway cruising car. |

What was your route? As a last hurrah for petrol I bought my 2018 SMB F82 comp. Planned to do a road trip thru Europe while stopping off at a Grand Prix in Monza or Spa Still plan to do the trip but the F82 is a superb daily driver. I can squeeze 34mpg crawling to work! |

KY to MI last weekend. KY to GA this weekend. Back to MI for 4th of July and KY to FL end of July. Used to rely on my Touareg diesel for road trips. Started using M3, now that I'm no longer concerned about mileage, and found it's a very complaint ride with some fun mixed in.

Drove down from Alberta, Edmonton via Banff to Victoria BC. Left at 4am arrived at 10pm. The M3 was straight piped (vrsf) on stock 19 Michelin pilot tyres. In hindsight this was not the most comfortable setup for the car. For one, the ride was quite stiff even in comfort mode, I blame they tyres and second, the straight pipe drone ruined the trip for me 5 hours in I had a massive migraine even with the exhaust valves closed. The gas milage was not bad I only fueled twice. I would do it again now the I'm back to full cats and have meatier tyres that drive a helluva lot comfortable and are bit quieter. Other than that, the car is definitely meant for long cruising, very easy to plant. It gobbled asphalt and the decat exhaust meant if I was on sport plus the car could be heard screaming for miles. The clean up after was a mess, I'm thankful for PPF, the car had swallowed lots of insect road kill. This is definitely a car that can be tame and pedestrian when you want it to and fast monster at the press of a button

Err I think the uk is no longer Europe due to Brexit but either way as someone living in England we still say we are going to Europe when leaving England to visit anywhere in Europe even before Brexit happened

Made the trip from St. Louis to Miami and back now quite a few times. Always nonstop and takes anywhere between 17-19 hours depending on traffic (I always go on the weekends). I can't think of a better car for the trips, what a machine.

I did a weekend road trip from Los Angeles to Laguna Seca for a track day. 333 miles up the California Coast, one of the most beautiful drives I've ever done. Highly recommended!
I made a post about it with photos here: https://f80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1841035

2019 M4 Comp.
Houston to Pasadena, CA to Lake City, CO, Back to Houston. Bad Ass trip. I drove two 1000 mile days pushing the limit. So, a good radar detector might be required. It’s hard to drive 65 in an M Car! Or even 75!

Did a trip in the M4 from SoCal to NorCal and a week later did the same in the M5 and I was genuinely surprised that I found the M4 more comfortable after the 400-500 mile journey.

Have done a couple trips up to Boston and back and enjoyed the ride. Leave it in 6th gear and you can overtake almost anyone effortlessly and i got almost 30mpg on the way home keeping the speed below 75mph.

I've driven the CS across the country 4 times in the last 3 years, Charlotte to San Diego and back. 23 mpg average. It's very uncomfortable, way too firm. I do the trip in 2 days and still love every minute of it. I've done the same trip in the E92 M3 twice and in my Sonic twice, M3 has awful gas mileage though.
