Active Autowerke Non res EL midpipe with MPE

Hey y’all was wondering if anyone here had this same setup as me? I have the AA equal length midpipe with my MPE exhaust. I just got it installed but I don’t have the appropriate clearance in the front or the back. But I took it to AA down here in Miami and they tweaked it for me and assured me it was fine the way it was. That blue foam pad or whatever it comes with won’t fit where it has the clasp toward the front and the back right portion is almost touching the support bar.

They told me the blue foam pad it just a general measurement and that im ok as long as it’s not touching but to be honest im not getting that warm and fuzzy.

So the cold start sounds horrible… and when I hit the gas most of the time there’s this sound that sounds like a fishing line when you cast a rod while fishing if you know how that sounds? AA told me that’s normal and it’s because the MPE is titanium so it has a unique sound. But honestly not sure if that sounds correct. Maybe Im being paranoid but it’s my first official mod and I like everything except those two things and I want to make sure it’s normal.

Appreciate any help with this 🤙🏼

Here are some videos so you can hear what I’m talking about

Are you sure you posted the right vids? I've been running this setup for exactly 2 years.

Yup that’s why I’m concerned. Active says it’s normal but I don’t think it is. You have non resonated? The first video is me driving off. 2nd is the cold start.

replace your downpipe to midpipe gasket.
sounds like exhaust leak.

do you have catless downpipes?

Yeah that’s what I thought it was too they couldn’t look at it again yesterday at active bud I’m getting really tired of having to go back. I have to go back Friday. My down pipes are catted.

yeah, EL takes a while for proper installation. Kind of tricky.

I'm running evolution racewerks catless downpipe with AA EL non resonated midpipe and remus muffler. Sounds good right now since all the alignment and fitment issues sorted out.

I don’t know bro I’ll have them look at it again. If this is a normal sound I’ll probably just end up returning it. Sucks I cut my MPE already though was expecting a lot better out of this AA pipe but so far its fallen very low for me if this is what they call “normal”.

Here's a vid of mine, I can't tell from your vids but what exactly am I supposed to listen for and when does it happen? You also mentioned downpipes? Those add a significant amount of unwanted noises to an unresonated mid, should have gone with resonators if that's the case.

Im running the same setup and mine sounds nothing like that. As others have mentioned, sounds like an exhaust leak.

I guess that some people don't know that you have to get new DP to Mid gaskets, I wouldn't reuse the old ones, that could definitely cause a leak as I had a bit of an issue getting those lined up and sealed right during my install.
