Autotechnik CF Mirror Caps

Anyone have these? Any issues with fitment/clearcoat/etc?

Ive been searching for non OEM caps for a while now

From what i have gathered the autotechnik reviews are hit or miss. Sounds more of a quality control issue but looks like the company had made it right and exchanged the defective piece. Even after the exchange, reviewers still state "good enough" fitment

I was also looking at RW carbon caps..but couldnt find any reviews

Just may suck it up and get oem for piece of mind and decreased headache at the end.

Keep us all posted on what you end up getting . Always good to see reviews of quality of parts from these cheaper companies

Don’t go aftermarket. I’ve done it and always regretted it. Finally bit the bullet and got oem. Fit like a glove

I have original m performance carbon splitters. Fitment isn't 100% either (though a solid 95%). I have a rear diffuser from carbonwurks, fitment again not perfect but close. Rieger carbon sideskirt extensions as well, also good fitment.

My theory here is that if someone has the equipment to make the clip-on style, the fitment is probably gonna be pretty good.

Got OEM for about $600 new from the dealer. Installed them myself. Can't compare fitment to aftermarket. If you're spending $80k or even over $50k, you can surely afford OEM parts. We hope.

I was on the fence on wether to pay the M tax but did't want to deal with fitment issues or parts failing on me which would cost more in the long run.

That said, I see why folks go with non-OEM. BMW really likes to nickel and dimes you.

Jeez...they are going for 5-600 on the used market. What dealer got them for you for 600? I would buy them right now at that price

Plus they are made in China. Crazy they charge that much. Probably cost $100 to make.

Bought the Autotecknik mirror caps from Ind a few weeks ago.. passenger side fits very well, the driver side has an arch on top, so they replaced it for free. However, the replacement fit is even worse.

Just buy oem.

Lmao exactly.

Not one person would be able to tell unless it was dry cf vs wet cf.

And people even struggle to understand the difference between that too. "Why does my $150 wet cf garbage not fit properly?!" 🤦🤦🤦

exactly. All of them besides M-performance are from china. I wonder if all M-Perf parts are from Czech Republic or partial form China as well.
