Upgrading 2017 Pre-LCI Adaptive Headlights to LCI IKON2
Hi,
I own a 2017 BMW M4 with the pre-lci adaptive/led headlights, and I've been dying to upgrade them to the newer version. I'm being told that there's two options one to go with OEMs which will be completely plug and play (+coding) or chinese replicas which REQUIRE a wiring kit to work, despite being much cheaper. I also found a set on an australian website: https://modeautoconcepts.com/product...24057d28&_ss=r was wondering if these would require wiring as well. Contacted them and they said plug and play but you can never be sure. My main issue with getting a wiring kit and complicating the process is that I'm going to have a auto garage install the headlights since I can't do it myself, and am afraid they might not know how to work the wiring kit? |

Brand new set of Euro Ikon with coding runs around 5k from Marius76 on instagram. With a wait time...
I'd be weary buying anything Chinese. For example: I bought a set of new lenses from eBay for my Acura MDX headlights. They fit great, looked great, for not even a year and now the plastic is peeling off the headlights in layers like a banana... Total waste of time and effort.

I'm seeing OEM lights being sold for anywhere $750-1000 on ebay (each side).
However they don't come with the modules so if I buy a set of 6x modules from ebay I can get them for $420~ SO in total one set would technically be 2-2.5k OEM. However I have no idea if it's easy to install modules into a headlight easily. |
