H&R VTF lowering suspension

What do you all think about H&R adjustable lowering springs? What I'm looking for is stock like ride while eliminating wheel gap mainly in the front. I have a F80 Comp with 666 style wheels. Any thoughts on these springs?

I'm possibly considering these springs or maybe M performance adjustable lowering springs. Any thoughts and experiences with either?

H&R VTF

My car is running H&R VTF springs set at about mid height. 15mm spacers in front and 12mm spacers in rear. Front spacers are necessary to clear the springs with ZCP 666. Ride is slightly firmer than stock and still have use of EDC. I am taking them off this week to install MCS 1WNR for the track. They will be for sale, less than 2500 miles on them. PM me if interested.

The H&R VTF-kit has 28% stiffer front springs and 13% softer rear springs compared to the stock Competiion springs. That might give you an indication of how the car will behave. A bit stiffer up front which is good when the car is lowered but slightly softer at the rear for Comfort. This gives the car a slightly more built in understeer.

No, unfortunately not. I don't have the springrates of the KW/ M performance spring kit.

Sorry to revive and old thread. You have a 15mm front spacer.

Do you know what the minimum amount is to clear the ZCP 666m wheels?

I have 12mm front / 10mm rear right now.

You want to go lower than that on oem dampers? You do realize the f8x front suspension travel is limited at stock ride height so lowering the front by >> 25 mm means you値l be constantly riding on the front bump stops? Just because a specific HAS design may allow you to run lower than another HAS design doesn稚 mean you should actually run lower.

I know that it not good for it to run lower than 25mm I知 just seeing if it on the lowest setting because emd is the lowest spring but on paper the VTF are lower to start with and goes lower but I saw another threat that say the reading is incorrect that the lowest is also 1.3

TBH, 25 mm lower is pushing it. BMW recommends their 10 mm (or is it 15 mm?) drop in ride height for different reasons with one of them being life calculations - damper and bump stop. The bump stop will protect the damper initially but they can wear out quickly. So as the bump stop provides less protection over time. Running the front 33 mm lower, 23 mm lower than BMW (or 18 mm if BMW lowers 15 mm), than stock is going to work things much harder and significantly reduce the life of components. If you want to lower your car this much then you should be looking at coilovers. ISC offers an affordable 1-way adjustable dampers with custom choice of spring rates and the choice of a damping package (street or track) for < $2k I believe.

I知 aware of cheap coilover kit but I found a H&R VTF set locally for a good deal and I値l run it while I save for full coilover kit that has edc because I don稚 want to lose the ability of the edc

I have been using it on my M4 for years and I'm thrilled with it.

The VTF will be my first suspension choice with any future car i get.
