It’s an M3 CS spoiler.

Look at the shape. The color of the car. The edge of the S on the “M3CS” badge.

Also to the guy who took the photo, “you’re welcome” for what? You missed the whole part of the photo we want to look at.

Was his name Dave?

I knew a Dave once.

I have been on the fence for 6 months now. OEM or RW Carbon. RW Carbon is only $350 where as OEM is about $900. Hmm...

I’m sorry but I’ve never understood why guys buy a CF spoiler and then paint it. To each their own, I just think it looks rather tacky.

Hey guys I just got the OE CS spoiler from a dealer. Do your pointed ends stick up a little bit after you guys installed it? Also what did you guys use to attach the spoiler? 3M molding tape? Betalink?

I've got the 7/8" 3M tape on the main length of the spoiler and used the 1/2" to get the sharper corners. When I put the spoiler on my trunk the right end sticks up a bit, I can press down on it but I'm afraid the tape won't hold it down long term.

Yes points stick up on mine, which bothered me a lot at first since I thought for OEM it would fit better. Only notice if you get up close. They installed it with the 3M tape it came with.

It looks like yours was installed too far back. It's not supposed to go all the way to the edge of the trunk. Here's some photos I took a couple of months ago at the dealer so I'd know how to install mine. Trying to find time to get it on today.

I did however notice during my fit checks that the CS spoiler is NOT a perfect fit and the mounting surface isn't perfectly planar to the surface of the trunk. My ABS matte black M-Performance spoiler fit perfect but I was able to heat it and conform the spoiler to the surface of the trunk so that it would lay perfectly. Can't do that with the carbon one so we'll see. I'll post up pics whenever I get it on.

I was probably better off installing it myself. Now you got me thinking if it's worth removing it and reinstalling it. Hmmmm...

I'll wait to see how yours comes out. Hoping you get a good install and it will motivate me to redo mine

Got it on.
You can def. tell the spoiler is warped from the factory, the ends do seem to tip upward. The tape is holding for now. I'll report back tomorrow to see if it pops up overnight.

Looks great from the distance and you don't notice the space at the tips. Guess we know this is it fit and not worth me reinstalling. Enjoy it!

Thanks for sharing your install. Yeah yours definitely look to far back and I would recommend you to reinstall. When I dry-fitted mine the spoiler was most flat about 1/4" away from the back of the trunk and about 1/8" on the sides.

I'll do my install soon and share my photos.

That looks good. Similar to what mine looks like dry fitted. By the way what tape did you use? Also the the corner tips of my spoiler also doesn't fit flush to the trunk as well. That's what I'm trying to figure out is if there's a way to make it completely flat.

Looks very nice. I've been thinking of getting a spoiler on my car for a while, but still can't make up a decision.

Alright good news. The spoiler stayed attached all across the entire install surface. Took the car out in the morning for a drive and then let it sit out in the sun most of the day. Very happy.

I used what BMW supplied along the middle and 3M 5962 at the ends. Here's what the underside looks like with the tape applied. And this evenings photos.
I think having the large pad of 3M tape at each end helps keep the tips down.

Hey guys so I finally installed the spoiler. Thanks to all who contributed. I'm really happy with the fit.

It's almost perfect except the back side has a <1mm gap between the spoiler and trunk. I can see a bit of the tape showing through.
