EMD Springs

I’m running EMD springs on my f80 right now and cannot figure out the fitment just got 666 comp wheels. Car has 65k miles don’t know when springs where installed and the car is very low was thinking about buying another set of emd spring because I think mines are worn out. Is this possible or have any of you guys experienced this before. I have tried 15mm spacers in the rear and the car is undriveable and also 10mm spacers and no luck. Should I get a new set of EMD springs ?

I had those springs on my car for 20mins. They killed the ride quality so i removed them and replaced with ohlins. Obviously massive price differential but I'd never want those springs on my car again. They are very low.

Is the rear too low? Did you use the included pucks on the rear?

I have EMD springs on my f80 and i used the pucks when I installed the springs. I used to run 666 wheels with 12mm spacers all around w/o any issues.

What do you mean the pucks you mean the black thing that comes with the springs? If so does that come for the front and rear or just rear

What makes the car undriveable? Have you had your suspension alignment checked recently? Unless they’re real poor quality springs, springs do not reach their fatigue life with only 65k miles and they don’t sag by a measurable amount at that mileage either. However, whenever I read a thread that talks about EMD springs, it’s usually not a good discussion about them. I definitely would not replace EMD springs with another set of EMD springs. Your oem struts and shocks could be worn out after 65k miles when using lowering springs that significantly lower the ride height.

I was doing some research and I’m thinking it’s so low because the pucks on the rear were not used. I doubt the struts are done with 65k miles the car hasn’t been on rough roads. I was thinking about buying some H&R springs what do you think about those springs. I just want a nice fitment for the comp wheels.

If I was going for springs only, I’d go after them in the order, as follows: Swift Spec-R, H&R Sport, and Eibach Pro. If you want a HAS system, I’d go after them in the order, as follows: AST, H&R, KW, BMW MP. H&R and KW are tied for second. I like the idea of being able to control the height and to have the ability to corner balance so I’d go for a HAS over lowering springs.

HAS is literally the abbreviation for Height Adjustable Springs
