M3s need slightly longer rear springs. Instead of making two different kits for M3s and M4s, they include shims that you only use on the rear when installing these springs on an M3.

if you don't use the shims on the M3, the rear will sit slightly too low.

Going to install MS Springs-What Else?

Okay, this forum has been super helpful in my choice of lowering springs.

I am about to order these Macht Schnell springs but wanted to ask if anyone installing springs had done some either preventative maintenance or upgraded other bits since they had the suspension system all apart?

Thanks in advance.

This thread is worth a read. Will probably prevent you from having to chase creaks and noises if you do this as part of your reassembly.

- Change the rubber boot if it's torn

- when reinstalling, make sure #1 is properly seated in #2. Tighten #5 under load and tighten way beyond factory speck. If you have the time to wait for the part, don't hurt too buy a new #5.

Also use a light film of grease/lube where the spring meets the rubber boot to prevent tearing.
