No regrets at all except the 4 doors, however driving a sports car and sitting low is a different feeling and loving it
Is your's NPP? The NPP system sounded great for a stock system. I ended up putting in a borla system and it sounds incredible. SO MANY pops and crackles lol. I'm with you there, the i6 + the exhaust system in the M3/M4 is just OK(that's probably being generous to some). Yeah, the GS comes with MRC standard.

Hmm... maybe I need to test one again. I drove a '15 which I hated for whatever reason, and a '17 ZCP which I remembered liking(super close to pulling the trigger on it too), white w/ silverstone int, DCT, MPE, sunroof, sick car. Felt like it would pull on the 'Vette too, but supposedly the C7 is the faster car(I think anyway)?

Congrats on the vette. Cars are a hard thing to really judge because you start to get used to them. The things that make them exciting tend to taper off. Then the annoying things tend to stand out. I’ve owned a Gtr, zl1 Camaro 17, sti, and now have a m3zcp. I track all my cars and drive them to work. The Camaro was my Favorite. The m3 feels like a grown up version of the sti. I also set the fastest times around the track in my zl1 that thing was a beast. My buddy has a Z06 it’s very fast and halls ass. Interior is very well laid out and the car is comfortable we take it to the gym every other day or so.

As usual its a bmw egoistic comment, even i used to think like you that i cant drive a vette or an american car till the time i drove one and got bowled with it. Its definitely more value for money and infact cheaper than the M. So far love it in all ways.
Great looking car. Love it.

The days of impeccable quality in build from the German marks is long gone. They squeak and squeal like any other make! The cut the same corners we don't see to make the same margins.

GS z07 pack was 1s off the pace of the gt3rs that was tested the same year (and is 2.5x cost of the vette)

The jokes about image are fun, but if driver knows what they are doing, the latest vettes are track weapons.

My understanding from speaking with owners at DEs is that the aero support works well and the stability control is non intrusive and definitely a helpful safety net when pushing hard.
Not only the latest ones. I have two very good track buddies of mine that run old C5 Z06 'vettes and they are pretty darn fast

You are getting ride of a c7 gs to get an m3/m4? Wow. Perspectives for sure.

Do you track your car? If not, I can see how vette would lose its appeal.

There’s also something to be said for getting a new car and trying something new every so often

Enjoy your Vette, life is too short to stick to one brand all the time. I turned in my M4 last year for a Porsche 911 TTS, nothing wrong in driving different vehicles.

I think its crazy that people on this forum buy a car because they see other "cool" people with that car (image).

I've never needed a car type to get friends lol. I guess I'm fortunate.

The F80 suspension is not "harsh" but it seems they engineered it rougher than needed, to make the car feel sportier. There much room for improvement. Go drive a 991.2 GTS, Vette, R8, etc. Very sporty rides and suspension without the "busyness" of the m3.

Enjoy the vette. Looks like a blast to drive.

Congrats. My parents have a recent year Corvette and they are definitely more exotic looking than our M's. Definitely a different class of sporty car. I'm very vaguely considering one of the new mid engine ones that are coming out after my lease is up depending on their price.

Agreed. Interesting because I traded in my F80 and might pickup a TTS!

Its my 1st sports car and want to have this experience, have been driving sports sedans since 2005 and got bit tired of it. Another reason i missed the moonroof badly and didnt care about the CF roof , there were many times i wished i had the moonroof instead.
Completely follow you on this statement. If you want a true sports car feel have to go with a sports car, not a sports sedan. The M3 is fab, but like you said its still a 4 door.

OP, it's been over a year since you got the C7, would you mind doing a 12 month review and comparison to your previous M3?

I am not the OP, however, I recently sold my c7 z51 stingray and then a bit later for a M4 convertible so I wanted to share my thoughts.

The stingray is cooler looking (mine had a lot of cosmetic mods) and it sounded so good with a new xpipe. It also had great features (PDR, ventilated seats, changeable dash layout). I loved that car, yet I wasn't driving it very much at all. I owned it for 3.5 years and only put 10k miles on it so I decided it was time to move to something different.

I've had my M4 for just 6 weeks and I've already put more than 1k miles on it. The M4 feels more playful to me. It's comfier too. With the stage one tune, it feels as fast as the stingray too.

All in all, both are great cars and whichever suits your needs and wants will prove to be your best answer.

I loved all my previous M3s and the stingray, the stingray was a true sports car in terms of driving dynamics and suspension was smoother than my M3's , i had adjustable suspension in the Stingray and in touring mode you could just coast in it, very comfortable drive. Similarly it became stiffer in sports and track mode and the V8 sound on WOT was exhilarating. However i didn't like the steering feel and felt it was bit light. The stingray didnt look anything less than a ferrari from a distance , C7s are the best looking imo

Last month sold the stingray and got into a M2 Competition and the main reason was playful nature of the M2, it feels nimble and faster and love the car overall, steering feel and handling is the best in its class. M2 looks pretty cool too and fit and finish of BMW interior is better than a corvette

GM & Ford deserve major props for the ride compliance they have been able to achieve in track ready cars.

I owned a 18 Z51 C7 M7 for about a year it was ( is ) a great car. Very fun & easy to drive hard since its N/A, the LT1 makes torque everywhere so even in a manual its always in power.... sounded great with the stock NPP exhaust. I do miss it a little for those reasons.

However The cheapish chevy interior bugged me from the start, the styling is good but it always lets you know your inside a chevy... cheap materials everywhere and the interior road noise on the freeway was ridicules SO DAMN LOUD!
I hated all the attention the car got...some good and some bad.

My DCT m4 feel's every bit as quick & fast as the C7. and frankly F8X M cars are just nicer in every way than a chevy C7. Thats why they are known as being a "performance bargain"

Its been said ALOT but the M4 M3 may not be the best at any one thing but it is 2nd best at just about everything. No plans on getting out of my M4 it checks just about all the boxes for me.

The Corvette C7 or C7 Z06 are very different cars from a M4.
I own each because they don’t compare.
I love driving one to work in the morning and swapping to the other at lunch.

I have to say it’s much easier to control wheel spin with a supercharged car than a turbo car, but they are both a blast spinning rubber.

What’s interesting is a supercharged motor has what I would call the inverse of lag, you can let of the throttle from a quick punch and the motor will continue to spin the tires for a while.

I’m coming from having a few c6s to an M4 hoping for it to be a more comfortable daily driver and a bit more business looking!
