I sure as hell didn't buy this car to shift at 1200RPM everywhere I go lol. I would be driving a Corolla if that were so.

I think my M4 displays only the current gear indicator. i have attached the original CAFD file for HU_NBT. BTW, do you manually parse the srec data or is there a tool to parse and do the diff ? (obviousely esys parses the data ...)

I have attached my CAFDs for HU_NBT and KOMBI (the latter is before the flash to v.56.2_PSdZData to make it easier to compare to yours). Actually, it is KOMBI that I would like it see.

However, I tried changing each parameter in isolation. I will try to see if I get anything different changing them both together.

A quick update, I have enabled the three parameters on my DCT equipped F82, and the gear indicator disappeared from the cluster and HUD and didn't have a checkbox in idrive. So I reverted back. Not sure why... FYI, when you code Kombi, the time/date is unset and there's a stupid exclamation mark in the cluster that goes away when the time/date is set.

The pictures in post #1 show the upshift/downshift indicator on a car with DCT, so (since you do not have the indicator) there should be a parameter that controls this indicator in the DCT ECU.

Programming in modern ECU's is getting pretty sophisticated.
F8x shift indicator logic routine: Vehicle speed < 1mph ? -----No------> Turn engine off | | Yes | | v Recommend shifting to 6th gear |

The shift lights in the tachometer are different from the gear shift indicator (SPA). Unless something is not working as it should, you should have them in your HUD, but they only appear as you are getting close to the redline, while the SPA is present most of the time with the 6MT (constantly telling to shift up to 6th).

The "Optimum Shift Indicator" suggest which gear should be engaged to maximize fuel economy.

Ok I get it, I should have thought about it for a sec... Is there any videos w that in action? I guess most track'ers will see that as they come close to redline on straights? Found few now that I know what it is called. Looks awesome! I guess one day I'll get to see it in person
