Although I love the look of the renders and wouldn't mind if the prod version actually looked like it, it's just too aggressive for BMW. M cars have historically been much more subdued and stealthy. These are more Benz like imo. Specifically, I'm willing to bet that the scowl on the headlights and the size of the front break ducts will be less aggressive on the prod version. Then again, no dogmas might really mean no dogmas and we might get a more aggressive m3.

Those renders look fantastic. Based on the renders alone it's going to be tough for me to chose from Estoril Blue II or Silverstone II. Based off the recent spy shots of the test mule, I believe, the rear will look exactly like the rear of the M5.

I love the new look. It is a definite change from the E9X, and a BETTER more sleek, lower looking design. My guess is all the nay-sayers who would never sell their "pure" V8 will trade in for this beauty.

Two thoughts... will they offer a CFRP roof? And will the rims be the same as what we've seen on the test mules?

My predictions for power: 420-450 HP (and at the wheels, since that seems to be the new trend) and the same figures for TQ (it being a turbo engine and all.)

EDIT: I'm assuming these are not the production mirrors?

Production mirrors have not yet been spotted on any F80 M3 prototype yet, so these are our rendered guesses at what they will resemble, using the F10 M5 as a bit of a guide. But, expect them to be sleeker than the versions spied on the F30 3 series, just as the F10 M5's mirrors are sportier than the F10 5 series.

With these renders showing several design cues found on the F10 M5, I think you guys may have guessed correctly on the F80 mirrors. The mirrors fit the car and don't look out of place...but of course this is all speculation

Another thought: Will the F80/F82 have air curtains like the 1 series M coupe? Looking at the spy spots of the mule you can see holes where they would be located.

Yeap. And we've been told that the F80 M3 will be a mini M5 of sorts when it comes to styling.

More speculating, but this is too good to pass up... If what you say is true. Will the F82 be a mini M6 of sorts when it comes to styling?

We'll know better soon once the first F32 3 series (4 series?) coupes are spied - upon which the F82 will obviously be based.

Wow! If it looks like that, I'm sold!

Front hood looks nice and aggressive still. Perhaps it has more creases than the regular F30/ F32?

Thanks for the renders!

Yup, these renders just have me excited! We haven't even seen much of the M6. But with SCOTT26 saying how different the 4 series will be and BMW talking about modular cars, it makes me believe the M4 will be a mini M6. PURELY speculation, however. Thanks for the quick responses Jason.

Sorry, I just don't see any Japanese influence. The Evolution has a very angular front end, the grill is square, and the lights themselves are rectangles. The Evo is a good looking car, but the renders look nothing like it. Sorry, I just don't see it.

It looks great. I have two requests:
  1. Eliminate the excessive rattles found in so may e90/e92’s
  2. Smoother paint job

I'm very anxious for the next gen M3 also
It would makes sense if the F82 ends up a mini M6 coupe, just like the F80 will draw influences from the M5 sedan. At the very least, expect the styling differences between the F80 and F82 to be much more than that between the E90 and E92 M3.

The F12/F13 M6's styling has been for the most part revealed in spy shots. Have you seen these latest pics? http://www.6post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=579665

As others have said in the thread, a power dome is unnecessary and unlikely if it gets a turbocharged V6.
