We've started work, looks like minimal changes will be needed with our existing lips.

Try APR front air dam. They come with these individual square plates that are placed strategically underneath the lip which protects the CF from getting scraped. I have it on my car and I swear the lip is built like a tank.

Splitter & Side Skirt Liner Protector

it's just wheel arch moldings, but you get the idea. Stick it to the underside of the leading edge of the lip. It's sacrificial protection so you will eventually have to replace it when it gets thin.

Well, I just scraped my m performance carbon lip on stock suspension pretty good last night. It was wrapped to underneath it and it of course scrapped it all off. I ended up pulling the wrap. Now I'm thinking I want a different cheaper lip to start chipping away at in my daily drives and I will put this one away for some other day after I refinish it.

I want something that looks just like the oem lip. I keep hearing of this light weight lip. Does anyone have any recommendations?

I scraped my lightweight lip on day 1 (stock suspension), I've just come to accept it as part of life .

The lip does not take away much vertical clearance compared to all the other lips, but it sticks out far enough forward that you will need to angle the car for most dips/inclines to not scrap it. The thing is a beast though, seems like the bumper will get torn off before the lips gives

Do you have a link to the lightweight lip you bought?

I'm wondering if it makes financial sense to continue beating up the $1200 OEM lip or if I should look into other options.

I got it from kevin@eas, but other vendors sell it too. This thread has all the photos you might want of it

$550 for the lightweight lip vs. $400 for the matte black OEM M Performance lip.

I'll take the M Performance lip.

I made this 5mm thick plastic protection sheet myself out of the same type of plastic that cutting boards are made of. It will be screwed to the M performance splitter and protrude about 5mm in front of the splitter.

I've since lowered both the front and the back a tad. Some scraping since, but the Macgrubber lip protection is holding up for now!

Good suggestion. I bought an RW Carbon CS replica lip a few months ago but have been too much of a p***y to put it on out of fear of breaking it. Modding fever sucks.

I was scared too... my own driveway is steep and has ruined many a front bumper in the past. I learned the exact method to going up it in the past year with the help of my son acting as a spotter! 45° approach then when one front tire is about to touch the curb ramp, full lock turn and hold until the front clears completely. No scrapping 90% of the time. If I rush it or don't hit it right, it will scrape.
